I have this injury since december 2019, not healed yet. Its hurts when I play football (soccer). like when i kick the ball hard there is a 10% chance it hurts so much for a few seconds... and it could swell all over again at times... so I guess I have to keep wearing cohesive tapes forever when playing..

One if the best videos I have ever seen that demonstrates how an ankle sprain occurs and how to fix it by rehab exercises. I had a moderately high ankle sprain about 4 months ago while playing soccer on the asphalt. As I was cutting to the left direction with my left foot, my foot twisted in a way that I could handle (the inversion sprain to its max) and I screamed to the top of my voice once I fell down. Anyway, I really enjoyed the video and learned through it. Keep it up the hard work. 😁👍💪🏼💯🇲🇺. One final thing, I am still experiencing ankle instability and continuing to play soccer with a brace, what are the ways on how can I can fix it and when should I stop warring my ankle brace??

Thank you! I'm glad you found the video helpful. When returning back to sport, it's important to try to match the demands on the ankle. So it's a lot of quick movements which is what you'd want to practice with the rehab exercises. I'm not sure there is good guidance on when to discontinue using the ankle brace. It has more to do with pain and confidence of moving around without the brace than at a specific timeframe.

This video is awesome and very informative! What were the names of the stretches you did with the bands and without?
@MichaelBraccio10 ай бұрын
The small loops are Perform Better mini-loops and the longer blue band is a Theraband CLX. If you put the time stamp for which exercise name you are looking for, I can definitely give you the name.

How soon after the injury would you start implementing these exercises if the sprain is mild and the swelling has subsided 1 week after the injury? I can still feel the stiffness and I am not bearing weight to my injured foot fully but I want to start rehabing

It’s hard to say as there are multiple things to consider. But usually for a mild sprain, light range of motion can be all right (but possibly limiting dorsiflexion to allow the ligament to calm down/heal)

Tomarrow the 24 i have two months with an ankle.spain doctor says no fracture but it hurts. And is swollen around the ankle why?
@MichaelBraccio5 ай бұрын
Its difficult to say since there can be many different reasons. Best option is to have it evaluated again to see.

and what are the reps
@Captain_Love11 ай бұрын
Do as much as you think you can. If it hurts, back off a bit. Pain is a good teacher.
@MichaelBraccio11 ай бұрын
Reps are variable and depends on tolerance. Usually the recommendation is 3x10 but there’s not a magic number.
@MichaelBraccio11 ай бұрын
Usually the recommendation is once per day. Although it depends on the response to loading and training history. Some people can tolerate more, some less.

Hi there. It's difficult to say precisely what you should do. I would go back to your doctor to get some specifics for exercises and shoes.

CAN SYNDESMOSIS SOMETIMES BE MISDIAGNOSED AS LUMBAR RADICULAPATHY AND WOULD THE PT FOR BOTH BE SIMILAR?
@MichaelBraccio11 ай бұрын
Unlikely. Lumbar radicular symptoms can be in the foot. But the mechanism of injury and symptoms are different.
