Exactly. Eagles without Frey is like the Beatles without Lennon, which thankfully McCartney never tried to pull off. Don Henley is bringing in orchestras at some venues to enhance the Eagles which is really a vanity project because there is 2% of the nightly audience who wants to hear the Eagles perform with an orchestra. So why do it? To make singing nightly songs they’ve sung thousands of times more interesting Don most likely wants an orchestra and so it goes. Don Felder did what he had to do to preserve his lion’s share of Eagles profits by bringing litigation. He made the Eagles a rock band with his guitar sounds that turned the band into an arena band instead of a regular touring band. Don Henley owes Don Felder a lot for making him a very rich man.

If Don Henley can afford orchestras for his Don Henley Eagles project, my guess is his ego can’t afford paying Don Felder at the same time.

Personally, (and I also have all their albums) I think Joe Walsh sold out for the paycheck, even though he has plenty of material of his own and could easily still tour as himself or barnstorm or whatever. He was never the greatest vocalist, but it worked for him. He's there for guitar excellence as Timothy B is there for bass and falsetto voicings, that being said, the pay must be good because Henley seems like a egotistical turd. But hey, what do I know?🤣🤠👍👍👍

For years now Henley has claimed he had multiple solo projects in the can but hasnt released a thing since that boring country album he had out. He has stated he had both a covers album and a rock album done. So where are they? Instead he keeps crapping all over their legacy for the almighty dollar. The band should have called it quits after Frey passed which is what Henley planned originally.

I blame Irving Azoff for a lot of this with multiple bands. The Eagles, Journey, Styx, Bon Jovi...the list goes on of bands that he pushed and encouraged to go out on tour without key members like DeYoung, Perry, Sambora, Felder....all in the name of Ticketmaster. Look at his track record; every band he has had his hand in is a shell of themselves.
@MisterMikeTexas
@MisterMikeTexas Жыл бұрын
The Eagles have had their issues long before Irving became the big influence in concert promotions. So have the other bands on the list. Dennis DeYoung was never forgiven for "Babe" or the later "Killroy Was Here" album. The rest of Styx couldn't wait to dump him when his health issues reared up.

The current lineup absolutely sucks. I don't care how talented any of the current members may be. The band doesn't sound like the Eagles. The band doesn't look like the Eagles. Nobody should patronize this band, especially since they have outrageous ticket prices (intentionally, since they are only in it to make some money). And as much of an issue as I've had over the years with Henley / Frey and their rule of the roost, the band ceased being the Eagles when Frey passed away. I could always do without any song sung by Henley or Schmit. The songs that were on top all had the original lineup (and also with Felder) in them, and the best songs were sung by Frey and Meisner. Also can't stand good ole Joe, because he is/was weak when it came to Felder being canned. Not that Joe would have had any control. But he was always careful not to ruffle the feathers of Don/Glenn when talking about Felder, if he'd talk about Felder at all. Disgusting. And what is crazy is that The Eagles (with the original line-up and with Felder/Schmitt/Walsh at various times) are my favorite band of all time.

@@jeffreyweaver9729 I agree totally. Henley does/did have a great voice -- I just can't get past his ego/behavior and just won't listen to songs sung by him.
