I do a very similar method, the only difference is I spray the paddle brush slightly with water in order to avoid breaking my hair when it’s dry, it smoothes it out without damage.

After wash day, I like to put my hair in 8 chunky twists and tied the root with a hair tie to help stretched the roots. (You could make then smaller and try making 12-16)

Nicole Eudelle your hair should stretch if you style it like this after you deep condition and your hair is still damp. Don’t let your hair dry all the way after you wash it, unless it won’t stretch as much.

I love thevesy it looks fresh out the braids. I also do this...but I use my fingers mostly and I put jumbo bands at my roots to stretch bc I can't braid. Lol and I twist each section. Then pin them down.💖
