I’m not sure why I am so anxious about this video going live - perhaps because I’m always wondering if I’m over or under sharing. My heart is to facilitate honest conversation to hopefully help someone else feel less alone in what they’re going through. Thank you for having grace when I’m not the most eloquent, respecting what I’m not yet ready to share + allowing me to process verbally as I come to new realizations. Though I’m eager to close this chapter soon, I’m thankful to be going through each phase w y’all by my side. Love you. 🖤

You’re amazing and your videos are my favorite to watch. I’m currently walking through a separation and working towards reconciliation but it’s hard and there’s so many parallels. I’ve listened to your podcasts with brook and my husband is also a 5 and I see so many similarities with my own husband. I just want you to know that you are so seen and loved and valued. Just came across your channel. KZbin must know me well. I got married at 20 and divorced at 25, so very same story. I moved to Austin, lived alone for the first time, similar to you. I can say, now I'm 31 - happily married, trying for a family, and thriving. This is a significant chapter, but will be one you look back on fondly for how much you grow. Good luck in this journey!

You are building a community and an openness for your friends to come together during a difficult time for them and for you. You are creating a safe space

My advice for the intimacy question is to not overthink it. Intimacy/sex etc. Is natural and beautiful. Don't let society or people around you determine how you feel about it. It's different for everyone. Wether it's waiting for marriage or having multiple partners just for the fun of it, that's all up to you, nobody else.

You're a lifestyle creator, it's only natural to post about what you're feeling or doing every day. We've all been loving your vlogs, so don't feel bad about the influx of content based on your divorce and move. Ii would be so strange for you to act like it didn't happen, when we are aware of it as the audience. Keep being you, keep doing what you're doing because I've seen dozens of lovely people sharing their stories and advice alongside your journey.

A thought that occurred to me while you were answering the last question: anyone who's ok dating a divorcee is also going to be fine knowing you've been intimate before. Even other Christians. It would be ludicrous for them to think you got married and then were never intimate. I don't think you have anything substantial to worry about on that front. And I was raised very much with purity culture and sex outside marriage is wrong. I never personally believed that, but most of the people around me did. And the reality for them, the ones who got divorced later, was that new dating partners later were kind about knowing they'd been divorced. I never personally saw or heard any of them having trouble with a new dating partner having issues with knowing they'd been intimate before.

I waited until 22 to have an intimate relationship (outside of marriage), and the most important thing for me was to understand what intimacy means to me. I felt at 22 that I was very secure in myself and was okay with intimacy in a long term relationship even if the relationship didn’t “work out.” When we broke up, I never felt like I “lost” anything or that intimacy made the break up harder. With age and maturity you learn how to navigate physical relationships in a loving and empowering manner. ❤️

Speaking as parents of three grown children (one older & two younger), we were VERY impressed by how you navigated these questions. We first saw your full video on explaining your divorce, THEN...went back to binge watch most of your Vlogs to this point. Our oldest daughter went through a HORRIBLE marriage/divorce (complicated with two children), so we have been watching your videos to gain knowledge about the world from your lense. You have been vulnerable and honest through this journey, and we are SO supportive of you. We've known about you for three days, but we've watched over a year plus of your videos. Thank you. We know that you are doing this (being open) to help others that are going through this (have gone through this, or possibly just starting that journey), but you are also helping parents who've had one (or more) of their children go through this...and possible ways of navigating this process and that there IS a light at the end of the tunnel. SO...we love you and are truly grateful for these videos. Marie and I have gotten to know you...and you've brought us to tears, but also we've laughed WITH you, too. So, even for the parents out there...that watch your videos...thank you.

I love the down to earth and humble honesty you use when being open. None of us are perfect, and I can relate so much to you avoiding conflict, validating others more and not stand up for yourself. I appreciate that the old podcast and videos are still up, we get to know you before and now and see your growth and that’s always great for followers. I agree with loving everyone as a Christian , love the person but not the sin, I also have had friends in that community, but we had an open honest relationship where they knew where I stood on the issue but I still loved them. We aren’t suppose to embrace the sin but we are to embrace the person.

You've already proven that you're more than capable of handling multiple projects, running your own business, being self-employed, a full time content creator, blogger, actor, and product designer. But just because you can do all those things, doesn't mean you have to. I'm glad you're taking a step back from all the side hustles to just be with yourself. I spend my now former wedding anniversary as my "dark day." Meaning I go dark, no communication with others and I literally do whatever I want, just see what I feel that day and what I want. It's been three years and every year is different but it's just a day to take care of myself and do only what I want and not worry about pleasing or taking care of anyone else. I remember someone telling me during my separation ' when you make someone your world, and they leave, your world collapses!' My hard lesson was learning to know that I too am a priority and worthy, and that when I met my new partner, it felt all the lessons of the break up/ heartache, brought me the place where I could love myself and as such let someone love me ! So you hold on in there ! Stay strong and true to you ! Believe that the storm clouds will pass, and brighter days will come !

Your story is just so encouraging. Like you, I am so afraid of confrontation that I will hurt myself before I hurt someone. I have paid the cost of the mistakes of a lot of people because it is easier than confronting the situation. I can't count how many times I lick my wounds silently because it felt "easier" than the confrontation. And I've been like that my entire life. Although I've been in therapy (still am) I think I have not removed the tapes from my childhood where I was severely abused emotionally and told I was worthless and would not amount to anything. Even though I have proved that to be untrue, I still sell myself short many times. I will get quiet instead of speaking up. I think you opening up about your challenges, you are helping others. It takes a lot of courage to be this vulnerable and open. God bless you for that. You're so much stronger than you think!!!

I can’t quite verbalize why (but I’m going to try- can’t promise I’ll do this well) but my husband and I separated and came very close to getting a divorce a little over a year ago and while we have managed to salvage our marriage and work together to stay together- I find your videos so incredibly healing to the part of me that felt so lost in that time of separation, when I didn’t know what was going to happen or how I would be able to survive that type of loss and your videos help me feel strong watching you be so strong and adjusting to what life has thrown at you. I hope this makes a bit of sense. Because you are doing it I feel comfort know if I needed to I could too. I told you I didn’t know how to verbalize this well, but just know your videos really have such value and God must be so proud of the love you show this community by opening up and letting others in. I am so comforted by your sharing. I feel like I am with a friend who cares. Thank you for your willingness to be so vulnerable. God is using you for healing. Feels like a hug here. ❤ 🌺💐

You are a bright light in so many people’s days. Thank you for continuing to be your true authentic self, whether that’s happy or sad. You are enough. But when you choose to let love in again you deserve a loyal, super positive and amazing communicator who will complement you so that you both shine brighter together.

As Brene Brown teaches, there is such strength in vulnerability. Thank you for sharing these answers with us. I also wanted to say how supported I feel as a member of the LGBTQ+ community to hear you say that. Makes me proud to have supported you and your channel (by viewing and using your sponsored links) for the past year or so 💕 You are doing great!!!!

You make in difference in the lives of so many people and I always look forward to your videos. Although you are going through a rough season in your life, you seem genuinely happy about this new chapter in Texas. It's so nice to hear that you are focusing on yourself, your happiness and dividing up your time doing the things you like and spending time with the people you love. You deserve all the good things in life, surrounded by happiness and love! Thank you for being brave and sharing your story. We love you, Michel!

The constantly playing music living alone tip is so good - I do this (I actually don’t live alone but have a very different schedule to my fiancé so don’t see him most nights) and it helps with lonliness so much

I have only been with you on this journey since the video you have announced your divorce, but oh am I so thankful to now be a small part of your life and new beginnings. You are an amazing person and this video has shown me once more that I am here to stay. Thank you for opening up and sharing your heart. It is not an easy thing to do, but I know you are going to appreciate this time going forward. Only love and hugs to you "my friend" (because it has felt that way)

"Just be held" by casting crowns, please give it a listen. I know your dad likes sending you music and this one really spoke to my heart and kept me up during a very tough time, thought it was worth a listen. It is very inspirational hearing how you've been transforming yourself. Being so vulnerable, yet so graceful about something so private and hurtful is admirable. Praying that God continues to heal you and keeps putting the pieces together. He always has bigger and better plans for us whenever any door closes.

Idea for anniversary date vlog - to get your focus off the date but allow you to stay active and engaged with "us" --take us on a scavenger hunt exploration of your area. Maybe pick 5-10 random things to check off the list and then explore your area with camera in tow to see if you can find them. It could be silly or random things--some suggestions: 1) Take Max to a new to you dog park, 2) Find the perfect outside cafe spot to revisit in the springtime, 3) Find an outside art installation or wall mural that speaks to you and tell us why, 4) find the best "picnic tree" spot around you, 5) Buy a dozen yellow roses and pass them out to 12 elderly ladies you encounter the rest of the day---my birthday is three days after so you can add 6) Have a chai latte for Jen's birthday to the list! 😃

My parents went through something similar in their divorce that led them to make the final decision. My dad had told my mom in the counseling session that he didn't feel the need to change and that pretty much was the nail in the coffin. You're right, it takes two to make it work and marriage counseling can be very difficult and tough to have those conversations.

This just hit hard. During tough conversations my husband has said that he shouldn’t have to change and I am in the wrong for not loving him for who he is. But anytime he tells me I need to change I take action and do it almost immediately

Michel, I so wish someone was as open and wonderful as you when I was going through a breakup after a toxic relationship. It would have helped me leave that relationship so much sooner. I’m so happy now but I know you are making the world of a difference to people going through separation. Please know we all love you and are here to listen every step of the way. We are so excited to watch all of your updates because little by little your light has come back and is shining more than ever.

One of the quotes that really got me through my Big Breakup was a poem by Leonard Cohen: “only one thing made him happy and now that it was gone everything made him happy.” It can be freeing to have space from someone so important, if for no other reason than to get closer to yourself, but also to open yourself up to all the wonderful things in the world ❤️

Thank you so so much for sharing your journey through divorce. I am going through one right now and struggled to find a young christian woman who had been through the same thing, so hearing and watching your videos is so so relatable AND refreshing. Your pain is definitely for a purpose, I can say you have definitely already helped ME! I am in London UK, and so so glad to have found you. EVERYTHING you have said has made me feel less alone and I’m just in awe of similar our situation sounds. Sending you love, and grateful positive vibes from the UK. Thank you Michel xxxx

I thought you did an absolutely incredible job in how you answered all of the questions. I feel the same way about LGBTQ and how Christianity comes into it. I feel like I relate soo much to you. On perspective, lessons we are learning or have had to learn, divorce, second marriage, celiac disease, Faith in God, etc. Just know, you have a friend here, even if we are not close, just know myself and so many others are here for you. Through the rough times and all of the celebrations and good times!

This is a tricky thing. I've never watched the podcast, and the reason is, for the two or three years prior that I'd been a subscriber, I'd been frustrated by your interactions with Brook. You were so lovely and loving, so enthusiastic and vibrant and I felt like Brook barely grunted acknowledgement. I never said anything and I watched so many people comment about couple goals and how adorable he was and the two of you were together, and I wondered, "Is it just me who sees this?" I hope you find someone someday who is as loving and vibrant and enthusiastic as you; you deserve no less. I hope you take this in the way it is meant, which is to encourage you to continue to be the warm open-hearted person you are. And you deserve someone like yourself.

You once said you did some sort of couples counselling before getting married to talk about the big questions and to prepare for marriage. that sounded like a great idea and it sounded like this would be really helpful to set the right expectations and make a marriage stronger. looking back at it, what would you say is the reason why this promising concept didn't work the way it was intended? would you say it was because essential topics where not talked about or was everything discussed and one person (a.k.a. him) changed their mind over time? this process sounded so promising, I thought everyone should do it, but unfortunately it didn't seem to help a lot.
