Wow this is a super early interview. She was a working actress, but hadn’t become a famous movie star just yet here. Love the icy silence she gives when the interviewer calls her character a maiden. She clearly disagreed with that.
@t1mpani10 ай бұрын
If true, she would be incorrect, because a maiden is an unmarried woman/girl. That's an accurate term for her character. Does it encompass every aspect of the character? No, but I've often introduced people by saying something like, "This is Janice, she's our Human Resources director." Janice could--of course--regard me with icy silence, and say that she's SO MUCH MORE than that...but, that would make her a twit. I took the look more like Michelle trying to remember the definition of maiden. :D

It's interesting. I would have liked if she would have asked what was it like to work with Mathew Broderick and Rutger Hauer. Alfred Molina was also in this for a small role.

I was hoping she would share more details on working with the wolves. Like, most importantly, did she bond with them? How did their relation change from start to finish? What kind of experience did she get at the end? Her part in the movie demanded a lot of time with the animals. Her character was constantly showing affection to the wolf. It was not like she only gave some commands to the animal and pet it a few times on the back. She had a scene where she tried to keep the wolf from drowning in a frozen river. Then she had to lie side by side with the wolf in a pit and caress its fur. I don't think there are many Hollywood actors who have shared such a close bond with an animal on screen. I'd really like her to tell us all the details about working with the animals.

Ladyhawke is really the only grounded/serious fantasy movie around until LOTRs. Most Fantasy movies are to silly, cheesy, or don't take themselves serious. Not Ladyhawke

Cool to hear her talking about the Scarface controversy. It gets forgotten now that that movie was criticized a lot when it came out. Also funny to hear her praise Nicholson, who she would work with in The Witches of Eastwick a couple of years later, after which both of them would join the Batman franchise.

They also worked together in Wolf. Which was a much lesser known movie, I think

Talk about it! I can't take it seriously because everybody in that movie looks far too old to be in high-school. Cha Cha and Valmoodo look like they're in their 50's.
