Great video..as a former police officer myself, really good video. This is pretty real training and I wish more people from the general public knew this. It's that dynamic it can change on a dime it can go from pretty cool and calm to all hell breaking loose you're fighting for your life, your fighting to save someone else's life, your fighting to stop a threat from hurting someone else then immediately turning around and trying to save that person's life. Something to remember, police show up and they are usually always seeing that person at their worst. We don't want to fight, we don't want to use force, last thing we want to do. We don't go out looking to hurt people nor do we want to get hurt.

I think that these “Challenge Accepted” videos are incredible. Michelle is putting herself in situations that likely few people, if any, would want to be in. Especially in this video, how many people will willingly be pepper sprayed or tazed. I’m awestruck at her courage to do these things for education. I really had no idea what all went into being on the police force. For her to do this with no interest in being an officer is so amazing. Thank you Michelle for all of these videos, for putting yourself in these situations to inform and entertain.

"Challenge Accepted" is one of the best series for ANYONE to watch. It is informational and entertaining. She goes into each challenge unbiased and willing to learn. The way she addressed such a controversial topic was amazing she wasn't afraid to asking common questions im sure all of us have, but she allowed the people being asked to convey their thoughts in a non-judgmental atmosphere. I truly end each video with so much more knowledge about the topic than when I started. Michelle you are absolutely phenomenal and thank you for this series

I've always respected police officers and at my old job I would see a lot of them before they'd start their morning shift. They were always so courteous and kind. Charné Slater people lose 80% of their function and training when under stress. That’s why police academy is normally 16-22 weeks long. It’s very vigorous and detailed. When I went through I lost 20 pounds and I was already fit. Almost 2 years later and I still am always in that mind frame. At the end of the day I want to go home to my family. And when your life is in the hands of people who hate you, about the only thing you can do to increase the odds of going home is to train. Prepare for the worst so you know what to do when it inevitably comes.

It's a good start, but she will probably not remember a thing if shit hits the fan. The point about training is that you can do things automaticly. It takes alot longer than those maybe 15 hrs of training she got, to be able to rely on it in a stressfull situation.

From a car chase through a neighborhood, to a foot chase through the woods, to a physical fight that felt like an eternity, all while staying in radio contact, knowing your exact location and giving information to incoming backup. Come in to work the next day and give CPR to try to save someone's life. Then all you see on social media is how people hate who you are and what you do. @@yc2877 As someone who's been pepper sprayed before, I can absolutely guarantee that this is not a dramatisation, and even the fact that she was able to complete that exercise afterwards shows IMMENSE mental strength- the first time it happened to me, I was given water immediately after I was sprayed and still couldn't stand myself up for almost five minutes.

bruh i haven’t actually been sprayed but i tested my personal pepper spray i keep for protection by just spritzing a tiny bit in a ventilated room to figure out how it sprays and i couldn’t even stay in that room for over 24 hours- it doesn’t just get in ur eyes it can get in ur throat and make it hard to breathe without feeling like ur lungs are on fire so i don’t think she was faking it at all

I feel like at the taser part they failed to mentioned that a taser doesn't always work for instance when a suspect is highly aggressive or are in the infuence on drugs that's why sometimes officers use a firearm instead of a taser when the suspect is being aggressive with a knife

@@robertct06 a few years in training will do the trick. She will start to realise how much of a threat a violent person will be towards her and her colleagues. There is really no need or time to be sympathetic to a person who wishes harm on you. At that point everything she learned will flow out. Remember some of the toughest people out there were too nice to begin with. But then again her nicer side can be a medium in her department. Imagine if all police were brutal....people suddenly wont feel safe anymore.

I think there is that voice inside her that knows it is all simulated and she gets to go home at the end of it. It seems that she can also give 110% of herself to fully participate, knowing that. What she is doing here in these challenges is so important and so much value can be taken from watching her put herself to the test. I am so inspired!

very new to your videos, going down the rabbit hole now after your collab with Michael Reeves. I admire how much variety of occupations you go out and try, You show when youre intimidated, you show vulnerability, and you're open and honest with everyone, especially this video with how police have become something people fear, but you had an open mind and open dialogue with these officers. Kudos to you Michelle! :)

Several years ago, I tried five times to become a State Trooper. I passed all the physicals, but only passed the written test once. Never made it past the oral interview. I was very disgruntled that I was always told by that agency that I don't have what it takes. This video really opened my eyes, and it showed me how delusional I was to even think I could become a cop. Great video, and keep up the great work, Michelle!!!
