Great finds! Someday I will find indigo milk caps and black trumpets but haven't yet. Bumper crop of craterellus orange trumpet chanterlles here in the Florida panhandle this year. Few true chants but not many so far.

You Florida foragers are tough for sure. I know trumpets are found in Louisiana and indigos in Georgia . Be safe out there . I do enjoy chants in homemade cream of mushroom soup

I'm really glad that you finally found your unicorn! I was watching another video a couple days ago when you were talking about wanting to find the Indigo milky. I just found it for the first time this year as well. this year has been crazy in Southern Ontario too! Finding tons of cool mushrooms that I haven't seen here before. 1st of November and I just found about 10 more Indigo milkies today! Black trumpets and Eastern cauliflower are my 🦄. Maybe one day....

I can't imagine finding the two on the same day , that is very neat. I once seen a short video done in Ontario where several summer mushrooms ( at least in my area) were foraged next to late fall mushrooms. Ontario is an interesting province. I hope to mushroom hunt there one day

@@FoundYouForaging you ever come to Ontario and I'd be happy to take you to my favourite spots! I need you guys to show me how to find some black trumpets LOL! Might not be as good as Michigan hunting though from what I've heard . I just found my first prince agaric mushrooms today so that was cool! @@FoundYouForaging awesome only been foraging for 3 falls so two calendar years I have passed it on to at least two other people but we aren’t spending enough time in the woods and the only edibles I find around me are Chicken of the woods and stumpers

Im in michigan first time i went out after morel season and found about a pound or more of the pig ears never heard of them are there any look alikes in michigan?? Id love to try them but i want to make sure they are safe

No look alikes. Just check key features. . Violet to grey fertile surface. Ochracious spore print. Ridges rather than gills. There are other gomphus but. None with those features .

@@michigantrapper4087 I enjoy the taste. I like them in casserole, eggs and cream soup. Great find . I'm not sure how common they are out west ,but here in Michigan they are rare bloomers.
