Being a person who works in the mental health field, I greatly appreciate you sharing your adversity. We never know how sharing our experience may help someone. For the vulnerability we expose ourselves to in sharing our down times, it has the capacity to create hope for others. I'm happy to hear things are on the up for you and hope that trajectory continues!
@MichiganGreatOutdoors8 ай бұрын
Thanks a lot, yeah the vulnerability of sharing it was quickly mitigated by the 20 or 30 messages I got from guys who said they were struggling as well. It was by far worth the share... The whole reason I started this channel long ago was to help people.... Really came full circle!

Dude, you have a real talent for connecting through this format. I've really been helped by your content as I've gotten into saddle hunting the last couple of years. Stick with it! Totally can relate with getting beat up by life at times. Thanks for opening up about it.

Man, I’ve been scouting your channel for a minute and just want to say that you never know the impact that your story can have on another person. People need to know that they’re not alone. I appreciate your vulnerability. If nothing else, just know that I was personally impacted by the journey that you shared. We need each other man. I’m not a big KZbin commenter, but wanted you to be encouraged, as you’ve encouraged me. Thanks hombre.
@MichiganGreatOutdoors8 ай бұрын
I appreciate that! I really do. Thanks for the kind words, I never thought it would impact so many people like it has. In life things happen, most guys just bottle it up and dont deal with it until it blows over, I was getting to that point and just had to let it all go man... it was very therapeutic for me and in doing so helped some folks so it was worth the risk of sharing for me. Im glad it was helpful!!!
@kurtcrowningshield30869 ай бұрын
That's some good vulnerability right there! Takes alot of courage to share like that. Sounds like you're on a more positive trajectory. Glad you are!
@MichiganGreatOutdoors9 ай бұрын
Yeah man, I said F it and threw it out there. Lots of people would not have done that, people dont express there feelings enough and bottle everything inside until they erupt. I was close to that and just had to let it all go and move on. I try and keep it real on my show and show people that im normal just like everyone else, Im nothing special and just a normal person like everyone else. Thanks for tuning in!!!

Thanks man!! Means a lot! It's been 3 months since this video and I'm doing great! It's funny u say that about up north cause I'm heading up this November for a week. One of the things I really needed was to get back to my roots in northern michigan!!
@douglashubbell807 ай бұрын
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors They always say up north is good for the soul its the crisp clean air the smell of the woods I find it funny that even if you live in the country around any major city away from all the cars etc is how when you get to west branch or Roscommon the air is so crisp and clean and everything smells so much better that's up north for us along with long campfires when we go to my cabin we are never inside we sit outside by the fire cook over the fire but we only sleep indoors really funny how that sticks with ya 1 of my buddies says dude I don't care if I go hunting were up north and he couldn't be more spot on with that statement we go in October hardly November to much like a pumpkin patch if ya know what I mean have a great memorial weekend be safe and don't forget the judge isn't in til Tuesday lol have a good one bud

I know where you've been, I'm glad your coming out of it. I go through it too alot, mostly during the winter months. Anxiety and depression. Alot of us are vitamin D deficient. Especially us northeastern guys. I'm in PA and I eat vitamins like candy in the winter. Keep your head up and know you're not the only one. We all struggle. Thanks again for all the content you put out! God bless!

I agree about the vitamin D. I started taking a prescribed massive dose and there was correlation with me feeling better.

Dude! I had a terrible 2023 also. I was wondering wth was going on with my health. Always sick, like debilitating type sick. Saw 2 ENT's, an Immunologist, Cardiologist and other docs. Test out the wazoo. They couldn't find a smoking gun so I just flipped the switch and decided I wasn't going down like this. Just started making healthy choices, exercising with a purpose and looking out for me. 8 months later I'm feeling better than ever and haven't been sick at all in 2024. The body is an amazing machine that changes and adapts. Bro, put your foot on the gas and don't let up. You have a great channel, we can see you do great things! Your future you will thank you for all your effort!

No scouting yet. We just got 12in of new snow today so covered sign up again. I’ve made the decision to go from a compound to a Trad bow this yr too so that’s taking most of my free time at moment🤪. Fun but frustrating!!!!

Props for sharing this story. Hope the new videos continue! I would recommend you talk to your wife more about your struggles - you guys are in this journey of life together, thick and thin. Also, COVID impacts obese people far greater that in-shape people. Good on you for wanting to work on yourself.

No doubt, Im kinda old school where I just keep my problems to myself. I have been opening up more (obviously) she was very supportive and continues to be. Yea Covid is defintily harder on fat people. Hence on my reasons for wanting to lose weight and work on my cardio vascular health, Ive had Covid 3 times, 1st time was hell, 2nd time was nothing and 3rd time was a little ruff for like a week. 2 weeks to get fully healed. So yeah F covid.. as of today im down 17lbs to Im on the right path, thanks for watching!

It’s cool you shared all that. In 2017 I, too, lost my job of 15 years. I immediately took a job, like you, just to keep some income and provide. I took a big pay cut. Worked a ton of hours. Wasn’t very good at it. (Though I really tried). And hated it. I was so miserable, and my confidence was at an all time low. Thankfully after a few months I got another job, and have been employed there 6+ years. I like it. I like what I do. I’m good at it. I’m making really good money. And my bosses and the crew of guys are great. Glad things are going better for ya man. Keep the videos comin. 😉🤙🏻
