I’m now 70 years of age bow legged For the past 20 years have noticed an increasing pain in my inner knee joints. Several months ago a large Bakers cyst appeared at the back of my left knee and I found it incredibly difficult to walk particularly up and down hills and steps. After viewing really good You Tube videos like this one I embarked on a regime to naturally re absorb the fluid out of the bakers cyst by stopping the cycle of its cause/creation - Osteoarthritis. Through exercise and using the correct amounts of Supplements including Glycosomine tumeric and boswelia the Cyst has gone and the pain substantially reduced. Hoping to avoid the knee replacement surgery that I’m on the waiting list for will see

I did had a tendency to joint problems when younger, but not now at age 76. But it wasn't glucosamine (sulphate) which fixed that. It was a supplementing regime based on magnesium, vitamin D, and K2, and a few other things over several years. I think it took about 5 years before I noticed that my joints were compleatly healthy. The effect of glucoseamine/condroitin in shorttem studies s probably noticeable only because it increases the synovial fluid. I think it can support other things you do, by supplying the molecules of which both synovial fluid and cartilage are built from. It probably slovs down cartilage degeneration, but isn't enough to build it up. I actually didn't need glucosamine for fixing my joints, but have now started supplementing with it for its effect on the intestines! In my experience, joints doesn't have to deteriorate with age, It's about nutrition! And it takes years to get any effect! Since I know you will ask: This is my supplements aimed at skin, joints, tendons, facia and bones: Magnesium (glycinate, up to 420 mg for men. But not so much that it upsets the intestines. Food is better, of course, but rather deficient nowadays.) Vitamin D and K2 (5000 IU resp 200 ug of MK7) Collagen 12 -- 15 g and some vitamin C Boron 3 .. 6 mg

@@WalterBarger-io9ckI’m not associated with the doctor nor am I in the medical profession BUT I am someone in the same age range as you who has tried a couple of different Magnesium supplements types. I am a 63 year old woman who has Celiac Disease. I have stomach and absorption issues. I finally for me settled on taking (1) Magnesium Malate 425mg daily. I really felt the difference (all good) in taking this Magnesium type. It took away my Restless Leg Syndrome and most importantly, my cognitive and memory functions improved significantly- like night and day. I was fearing at the time BEFORE taking the Magnesium Malate that I had Premature Dementia. It wasn’t just a case of “oh, now where did I leave my keys? - my situation was like my cognitive decline descended into a black hole, so much so that my husband was totally worried. There are several types of Magnesium. Hopefully you will find the one right for you. 😊

Hi Doctor, what should I do? I am 47 years old, I did MRI exam and it showed a radial tear in the body of the medial meniscus of my left knee. My orthopedist told me that need to menisectomy to fix it. he said if you want to try physical therapy go head and if did not work come back for surgery, and chose the PT for now. I was shocked when he told me do not use crutches or knee hinged brace, he said that can walk without them. I don’t trust him, knowing that my meniscus tear was caused by sudden twist of my while bending, and subsequent standing and walking at work that s what made it worst in the first place. I can’t trust my knee without a knee brace. The swelling and inflammation went down.

London Ontario & Hamilton Ontario are two cities in the Province of Ontario in Central Canada situated about 128km apart by car. I took 1500mg of Glucosamine & high Omega 3 for my knees daily for about 15 years. I stopped the Glucosamine about 6 months ago after receiving Platelet rich Plasma injections in both knees last spring following a hip replacement last winter and changing my diet to high meat, fat, cruciferous vegetable and lowering my carbs over the past year. My knees along with other age related arthritis has been much better. I haven't had any pain killers over the counter or otherwise in my house for 6 months now.

I'm curious mr doctor.. my sister and I had fight almost three years ago now and in this fight basically I sincerely don't know how. But anywhere in the process my high arch bone ended being shifted completely out of place to where you can see the bone slightly sticking out... like you can tell it not supposed to be there and my family doctor started honestly getting crappy and told me there was nothing I could do about it until a few weeks ago my hubby found out about flat foot reconstruction surgery.. and basically long story short... do you think this surgery something I should keep looking into for my foot???

He obviously think that joints deteriorate with age, and nothing can change that. I think it takes years to get any real effect on joints from things you do. It's therefore difficult to prove anything about it, so even my so far sucessful regime is more guesswork.than science. I base what I do soley on that the mechanisms are there, and aren't disappointed by the result. But would it have worked for all the others of my age who obviously are handicapped by joint problems? All those who had to operate knees or hips? Who need an orthopedic doctor? I think it would have made a difference, and that joints doesn't have to deteriorate with age, but I can't prove that!

@gibsonlespaulspecial you can regenerate cartilage between a joint ONLY if there is existing cartilage there already, if its bone on bone then your fucked, the same thing applies to IVD

There's no scientific proof that you can grow cartilage. At most that you can slow down its deterioration. If you can grow it, that would take 3 - 4 years, and not at a rate detected by ant of those undrerpowered studies being made! My joints seems to have improved with age with a systematic supplement and exercise regime. I think that's fantastic, but it's far from any proof.k

It’s probably just the way the video is edited, but the way the doctor speaks, his cadence and the sound of his voice, and the fact that he is constantly repeating certain items and facts over and over, sounds unnatural and almost like a bot or AI figure. Just saying, this is very common on KZbin. The actual information sounds like things I’ve heard about Glucosamine for 20 years or so.
