I’ve played chess all my life and am now having a go at bg in my fifties…and I suck at it!😂However, these videos are brilliant for helping me to ‘unsuck’ my game…please keep them coming…very much appreciated!

Great stuff! You owe me a game, we didn't have time at the RAC. Worth noting how one wrong choice can explode your PR. Almost 60% of Michy's equity loss came from that one take - 1.6 PR becomes 3.4 immediately 4:53

Great video, thanks! Quick weird question. Are there bongos playing in the background or is that just my headphones?
@JustinNowellPlaysBG6 ай бұрын
I have no bongos lol

@@maxzweig7803 the metal camera stand recording the match somehow amplifies every sound hitting the table and records it in the camera. The dice rolling and moving checkers sound really loud while in person you can’t hear it at all. Maybe there is a way to isolate the sound but our budget is zero.

Hey Justin, do you play a lot of poker? You’ve never mentioned it but you’re constantly speaking the language.
@horacecrane77866 ай бұрын
PR ratings are destroying the game! Luck is what makes the game cool, anyone can win on any given night. Otherwise you should just play chess..... This is why the market for poker is so much bigger, and backgammon has not taken off in the same way.

@@horacecrane7786 It’s a nice format for trying to improve your game. When the best want to compete against the best it is a fantastic format to see who is really the strongest. It still has quite a luck factor since winning the match still counts for something and the luck associated with how difficult your decisions may be. Nothing will replace normal backgammon for me though. :-)

@@JustinNowellPlaysBG I agree, it's a great tool to learn with and when the best play the best it is interesting for sure. But when tournaments and BG are set up this way it discourages people who just want to gamble and have fun. And of course these are the people we want to encourage to play. All that being said, great content!

actually this format bring new breathe on bg community and makes backgammon popular (a lil bit) again, and in New York and in many cities, sales of boards have increased, PR tournaments are the best idea, revolutionary. Gambling addicts are not interested in anything, they are not interested in the culture of gaming and all they need is dopamine. It’s great that the backgammon community follows the path of the work of our prefrontal cortex, and neocortex, awareness and calculation! This is the nature of backgammon. if a person can’t get pleasure from it, it means he doesn’t like backgammon (at least not like we do)
