I have high SHBG, I inject 180mg test divided in two doses. I will start Proviron 50E. My SHBG is always between 35 to 58. Do you think my protocol is right?

Dr Stevens, I know you advocate aromasin over arimidex. However, my issue is that I have a low shbg ( 17-19) and aromasin is known to cause shbg to drop further. Have you seen this in your practice? My recent results were Test - 22 nmol, SHBG- 17.0 Free test (calc) - 0.685, Estradiol - 278 pmol, DHEA-s 10.7 umol ( use 100 mg dhea) What are your thoughts?

I micro dose evey other day here in the states. Total seems a bit high at 1500 free being 31 and shbg at 28 estrogen sensitive at 68 What do you think about those numbers. I should add I inject subq . What would I expect to see going daily? Thankyou

I believe that precisely because I have low SHBG, I always had problems with TRT. I now realize that my FT was always very high on TRT, I developed lipomastia and severe insulin resistance. When I look at my past scans, my shbg has always been very low. Not only did I gain weight, but I lost all ability to lose weight on TRT, even microdoses, at doses as low as 10mg\day. What is the ideal TF in your opinion?

The biggest issue with TRT is the damn Anastrazole. Crushing your estrogen comes with all sorts of problems. Microdosing is the safest way to reduce or completely eliminate the need for an aromatase inhibitor

I have the opposite problem - SHBG over 50 so total test on 125mg/week is test over range @ 1500, but free test still low normal

Your prescribing clinician should titrate the dose so that you have a healthy free testosterone.

Since testosterone propionate has a half life of day, is microdosing with propionate instead of cypionate going to yield the same results?

Testosterone Propionate is a poor choice of ester for TRT. However, it's short half-life makes it the preferred ester for athletes who don't want to fail a drugs test as it has the shortest washout period.

Test Prop has a half life of around 4 days, so daily injections should be fine for maintaining consistent Test levels.

@@BB-wm4ti How could stingy nettle help when you lower shbg you lower total testosterone at the same time, so the free testosterone will be the same even with lower shbg then what you had before. The only way to lower shbg and get higher free testosterone is trt weekly injections 2 higher doses.

Try to lower the test dose. Start with 60 twice a week. Skip the next injection to allow test level to decrease little bit. It is possible to have estrogen too high.

This guy is good at marketing himself. Micro-dosing is just a buzz word. You should always take a dose which is low and effective. These are fundamentals of good health. And this guy charges silly amounts for telling you the obvious.

Update: I am now Dr. Steven's patient and it has been fantastic. Obviously i was very wrong an year ago. I have never felt better since i have been with him. I highly recommend him.
