Most every camera these days will provide very solid results. I was a Nikon guy for 40 years and went to MFT about ten years ago. I truly don’t think many can tell the difference in image quality unless you are shooting in very low light conditions. Love my EM1 MK III which always has the 150-400/4.5 Pro on it. I also carry a second camera at all times, which is the E-M10 MK II with the 12-100/f4 Pro. They both yield outstanding results.

My first SLR camera was an Olympus OM-10 purchased in the 80s, the film entry level camera from before the digital era. The OM-10 was a great little camera now I'm shooting an E-M5 Mk II, as well as other cameras.

I bought mine (the black version) in 2016, also almost didn't know anything about taking photos then either, except that I love the grittiness, the contrast and the colors Olympus produces (I set it up to my liking). And like you, I also go around with the camera strapped to my wrist using a DIY paracord bracelet. Thanks for the video. Great pics! Cheers from Indonesia!

Redondo Beach native and Olympus shooter here! I went through a couple different camera systems (Fujifilm, Nikon) before I landed on Olympus. I originally purchased an E-M5II just to try out because it was being sold for so cheap. Flash forward about 6 months later and it's the only kit I have. For street, the sensor size rarely is a factor, but the super quiet dampened shutter and small and light lenses and bodies are perfect. Keep at it man, great content!

I recently bought a used E-M10 ii with a Panasonic 25m f/1.7, Olympus 40-150mm f/3.5-5.6 and Olympus 12-50mm f/3.5-6.3 all for $170 USD. The camera had a few very small areas where the paint was wearing off, but in excellent condition. I loved the camera so much, I found a brand new E-M10 ii for $220 the came with the 14-42mm lens. Sold all the lenses, sold the old body and went full into Olympus moving away from my Canon 70D which I used with a Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8, Canon 24-105mm f/4, Canon 70-200mm f/4 IS. The size and weight of M43 has made photography FUN again. I now have a brand new E-M10 ii for every day carry and an E-M1 iii for more serious photography, both my cameras share a 12-100mm f/4 IS Pro, Sigma 56mm f/1.4 for low light / portrait shots and a Panasonic 9mm f/1.7 for ultra wide shots and will be adding a pancake Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 to put on the E-M10 for a pocketable option. My entire setup now is less than half the weight of what I used to carry with better results.

Another fine example of a creative eye being more important than the gear. Great images! This is a fantastic camera paired with the 14-42mm pancake lens. Almost pocketable.

I still find mine ticks all the right boxes . I have a number of primes and prefer the sigma 2.8 30mm, as that is my preferred perspective . I grew up with 55mm 1.8 Fuji lens . I also shot Nikon and Canon pro gear and 5x4 plus 6x6. Now I am retired I want light gear and the Olympus ticks that box, as does the sigma lens. If I need wide-angle then my phone has that covered . I process all images from the camera on my phone in Snapseed and from saved images I print in photo books each year. In reality you do not need more than 16 mp. I have also used old 6mp cameras to get good large prints. Since most of us don’t print for exhibitions and larger , it is academic as to whether you need that many mp at all. Since there is no single perfect camera or lens , the camera you have with you the most often is also going to be the one you not only master the best , but you will know how exploit its weakness to make it work as a positive . Whilst I also have a portrait lens for when I need one, for more or less everything else the 28 mm 1.8 and the 30 mm 2.8 deliver all I need .

I just bought 6yrs old Olympus Pen F and i love it. I practically carry it everywhere. My very first camera was a Omd em-5..extremly beautiful camera. I sold that to get OMD EM1 but I like styling of OMD EM5 & EM10. Unfortunately Olympus no longer exists anymore. OM who bought out olympus with new OM-1 camera brings best of M4/3 so we will have to stick around some more to see.

This was a satisfying video to watch with all the clicks and quick intro to Micro 4/3rds. I'm actually considering a second hand purchase as a novice of either the EM5 MK II, MK III or EM10 MK II, MK III, MKIV. Can't decide cause they seem to have similar build and features - with the except of the EM10 MK IV with 20 megapixels. I would like weather sealing just in case I'm in humid/wet conditions but also not sure since when you travel you can be met with anything. How should I narrow this down?
@anthonyroblesphoto Жыл бұрын
look at what you need to get out of the camera primarily, if weather sealing is a huge concern for where you live and you feel like you really need it try to spend a bit for it, however the MK cameras are built very solid, I've taken my em10 II out in rain with just a plastic bag covering the body and it went fine. if you can get the MK IV at a decent price I think you wouldn't be disappointed. hope this helps!

I have been using the same Panasonic gx7 with 20mm f1.7 for 11 years. Still going. Still love it. I’ll throw an Olympus 12mm f2 or 45mm 1.8 on it once in a while. Occasionally a 45-150 to shot wildlife. But 90% of the time the 20 pancake on the gx7 is perfect. It has documented my life and family…and then some; for over a decade.

Sad really, I just never got my head around the technicalities of photography and am too use to carrying around a phone instead. I want to start using it again now. I wonder how it compares to phone cameras of today such as iPhone 13/14 Pro Max? Image quality and zoom still better than phone cameras? It's such a cool looking camera and im sure very capable, I should try and learn it a bit more.

Totally understandable, we rely on our phones a lot these days and the cameras on them can sometimes work just as well. If you look more into my channel you’ll find a couple videos I have on iphone photography. As always the best camera for you is the one you know how to use well, for most people that’s their phone. If you're going for good video I gotta say go for the canon m50. As much as I praise this Olympus for good picture quality, it's definitely not for video. It does have video capabilities but they are so basic and the lack of autofocus is what would be a deal breaker. The canon m50 is more suited for vlogging and video. Hope that helps!
