Microshift does a great job in supporting their products. I completely missed the B-screw washer portion of this video. Gave you guys a call and the rep Matt Campbell got me taken of super quick! Shifts awesome and my bike is super quiet now. Coming from a max cog of a 34, the 42 feels like a dream!

Thank you...I had to adjust mine after 1500+ miles in the last 6 months of owning my new trike...the shop in business near me for over 35 years didn't have a bike stand that could lift my trike for them to be able to adjust the shifter cable...I put my hydralic floor jack under my trike jacked it up, used a 5 gallon bucket of chlorine pool tablets to hold the front of the trike down and made adjustments to the high screw to bring the derailer back into position...not as well done as the bike shop could do but saved $120

I just changed my 2020 Talon hardtail over to a 1x9 advent clutch derailleur yestrday, coming from having a shimano acera garbage derailleur before the upgrade, I can't say enough great things about the new drivetrain uterally in shock as 2 how easy it went on the bike & eliminated all chainslap/ chain falls, over 60 kms not 1 chain fall, even once over toughest roughest terrain of bumps, jumps, roots, rocks in my local trails & is even better then advertised !! WOW I would recommend this drivetrain to anyone likes 2 ride more, then fussing with crap stock deralliuer/cassette drivetrain comes on most entry level bikes. $225/Can. installed including the kick ass new shimano chain blinged my bike right out was the cherry on the cake !

I am happy with the AdventX so far .. few weeks so far. Right now, i have a 36t chain ring. It is good enough to climb hills, but not enough for pedaling downhill. Instead of 36t, 11-48t/400%, I'd rather have 44t, 11-56t/500% range. I'd rather have 5t between cogs, instead of 4. More range, wider between gears.

I have one question. While putting cable to the housing and screwing it in, what setting on the barrel should it be? Max clockwise?
@microSHIFTTECH

For our stuff, max clockwise is usually best. Some Shimano systems recommend that you set it a couple rotations from max clockwise in order to be able to release tension from the system on setup.

I have a 44/32/22 11/32 older Shimano drivetrain on my bike. It's worn out and needs to be replaced. Would this Advent 11/42 or 11/46 setup be a good fit for my hard tail? I ride xc only with a lot of hill climbing. What about the front? Could I just delete the FD and run in the 32t ring?
@microSHIFTTECH
@microSHIFTTECH Жыл бұрын
If you have a lot of hills, the 11-46 cassette might be better. I would get rid of the front derailleur, remove your chainrings, and replace the middle one with a narrow wide 32t or 30t ring. There are many guides online about how to do that.

It is meant to help measure the gap between the guide pulley and the largest cog on your cassette. It helps you really precisely set the B-tension screw during setup. We have a video about it, if you check out the rest of our channel.

My Jamis Trail X A1 did not have this cable protector from the factory. Frayed shift cable in 2 years as I'm a daily commuter. It's not a great design, maybe the only flaw in a otherwise perfect drive train. I'll invest in a nosed housing endcap and seen what happens with the new cable.

@microSHIFTTECH
@microSHIFTTECH 5 жыл бұрын
Hey George, it depends on what old derailleur you had. The cage length and pulley sizes can change. We recommend putting on a new chain if you already have some miles on them. We also recommend using the ADVENT cassette because the cog combination is the closest to how the guide pulley moves on the derailleur.
