I have Loopedeck live for a year now and it was just garbage all that time. Only after release of MSFS plugin it’s started to be somewhat useful. But in term of quality and software it’s still a garage.

Ordered one and got it today. It's a dream machine! Much better than my old Logitech flight panels. I love being able to rotate the knobs for Altitude, Heading, and Vertical Speed without having to hit other toggles (and thus having to share the same knob), and the main display gives you useful info like fuel quantity, gph, and remaining time. I highly recommend it for all of my fellow simmers. Thanks for highlighting this awesome product, Obsidian!

I use a Stream deck in VR with an HP Reverb G2. I use several realsimgear modules as well and I fly exclusively in VR. Just remove the nose gasket and that enables you to see the buttons and knobs. Not completely ideal but it is workable until mixed reality becomes available. The device in this video actually looks better than the Stream deck because of the rotary encoders. If I hadn’t already spent money on the Stream Deck I’d consider it.

Works great in VR, once you get used to where it is. Just put it in one spot and leave it there, or always put it back there.

Honestly, these make far more sense for controllers, that can be configured for many games, compared to a dedicated flight sim control panel, that has limited use.

I always thought of the Loupdeck (or that Elgato Stream deck) to be a cool addition to any sim like gaming (MSFS, Elite, Star Citizen etc.) as just the fact that remembering all the functions you dont permanently use is hard anyway, it helps a lot to be able to visually label the keys for each game. Plus i know from personal expirience that the dials Loupdeck uses are very high quality and feel just perfect. I have a loupedeck+ "keyboard" for editing in Lightroom, i only ever use it if i have to go trough really big batches and i only use like 20% of the features but... eventhough its a neach application it does make it... more comfortable and fluid to go trough like 4-5000 pictures in one go.

It works quite well (not perfect) for default aircrafts, or aircrafts developed adhered to Microsoft's API. But for more complicated planes, such as PMDG, I found that most of the functions don't work.

I wish I had the money for this - is exactly what I need. I bought myself a gaming PC and made the switch from Xbox in September... But I've struggled to play, things just aren't quite right in terms of control even using a game pad. I've managed to get going again by buying one of those half keyboards and working out what all my most frequent functions are, then working out the best layout, followed by using stickers to write on what each key does, with the shift key to add less used, but still important to me, functions. Cost me £12, plus the stickers and am ultra fine Sharpie, but it's done wonders. It's just for this one gave though lol, this deck looks amazing and so useful. Just can't justify the cost right now, if I continue with Elite Dangerous on PC, out also graduate Flight Sim from console to PC too then maybe in the new year... I do love a gadget, and I could see this being useful for a number of tasks like video editing and art work too.

This is a really nice device, was thinking of getting a device like this for a while. With the turntable knobs it’s perfect for MSFS 😍 Is the contract of possible commands provided by MSFS, or does the loopdeck need to constantly update it’s software to provide the possible commands? Is there a standard for programs to export this commands, like a specific xml/json/ini?

Seems to be much better than the stream deck, in function and also quality, especially the buttons are not like "gummibears". Do you have to pay for the plugins, like the one for MSFS?

You can map garmin dials with FSUIPC or whatever that API is called, it's very complicated and I don't know how to do it. If only MSFS added those options to config options instead.

I *might* have considered this if you could bind it to knobs in the sim (HDG, ALT, IAS, etc). Without that implementation, it's use is extremely lacking.

It can do all that, except PMDG and the Fenix. You switch the Loupdeck to midi output and you even can do this aswell.

@@johngisbourne7197 well in that case I’d rather buy an actual MIDI controller like the Behringer X-Touch Mini. It has more dials and buttons than the Loupedeck, and it is $170 cheaper. Using XMidiCtrl for Xplane or the MSFS application the community has developed you can achieve the same results.

Will this work with the 747 AP for example? You said the rotary knobs are pushable, is that also working with th 747 AP (e.g. if you want to change heading, you dial the heading then push on the rotary)?

I have the Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo, so a lot of the autopilot functions and secondary controls(trim, flaps, gear) are all built into Bravo. Now, I want to know if this works in DCS:World because I would find this more useful there.

Unless I misheard OA's explanation, it's just sending keyboard commands, so it should work fine with DCS.

Anyone know how this performs with the fenix A320 FCU panel. It would be cool to assign the speed, heading rotary switched to this device ?

The buttons will work as they're just replicating key presses, but probably not the knobs as Fenix is using the ProSim A320 systems under a license, and that license doesn't allow Fenix to support home cockpit setups (a Prosim license will cost you $1200). AFAIK the knobs fall into this category.
