3 times I got my kitchen aid microwave handle broken, thank you for this video

THANK YOU! I have a built-in microwave in my kitchen and the door frame cracked on the bottom right corner. I tried to clamp and superglue it but it did not last. I came here looking for instructions on how to remove the door so I could fix it but am glad to see that is not necessary. I did not know the outer "frame" could be removed for repair. This will save me a lot of money I would have spent on hiring a repairman/replacing the microwave.

Nice repair! I have a Kitchen Aid fridge, and dishwasher. The new stuff just doesn't seem to be as good as the old stuff.

Hi, is the glue safe when heated? does it release poisonous stuff

Good as new! When I first saw the vid I was like this is a job for 3d printing!. But no it wasn't unfortunately lol. Glue was the much better fix.

I wonder if I could have 3d printed some of the missing pieces to do a better job of reconstructing what was left. Its probably more work to reverse engineer the damn thing than it is worth and I don't have access to a printer anymore anyway. But it would be neat to see if it could be done.

put some baking soda on the super glue it will set in 10 sec

I was going to say the same thing. I learned that from Marty's Matchbox Makeovers on KZbin. Add baking soda to the super glue and it sets up like fiberglass. Great video. I was puzzled how to get the cover off the microwave door and I didn't want to break it so it's nice to watch your video and see how it came apart. Once I superglued everything back together and rescrewed the door handle it certainly made a lot of noise going back on. All that being said, if we get another year or two out of this microwave I'll be surprised. It's about 13 years old and these things have a design life of about 15 years. It's already had the control panel and microwave tube replaced under warranty when it was new. The plastic now seems to be disintegrating all over the thing in some weird form of plastic rust. But thanks to your video will get at least a couple more years of the thing before I have to replace it. I'd also rather replace it when we replace the other appliances.

Why would I throw something away that I can fix? Seems like a waste

If you value your your life, throw that piece of crap in the trash. It a MICROWAVE. and they don’t put fasteners on the so you don’t mess with them.
