Excellent tip - thanks for posting! Many repair services don't even repair microwaves, and the ones that do charge hundred bucks just to come out and look, with no assurance the tech is trained or not.

A few corrections to this video. Mica is not a waveguide it is a cover for the waveguide. "Thermistor" or "thermostat" on the magnetron is a thermal cut off switch.

Yes, you are correct on the waveguide, although the cover does play a role in uniform wave distribution. A thermostat is essentially a temperature-controlled switch, but yes, its purpose is to be a limit (or cut-off) switch in this case. The advice is still relevant, though.

@@thehoneybadger9262 Mica is a low loss insulator for the radio waves all the way to mm. it also high heat tolerant. it does not alter the waves in any way. The distribution of the waves in the microwave are from bouncing wall to wall + rotating plate if any. Thermostat is thermo-constant thingy.

Great vid, but please, can you video in landscape? 'tik tok' portrait is hard to see even on a large PC monitor.

Lol. Bad habit I need to break! I use the empty space for comments, but will try to be more 'professional' in the future. Thank you for the feedback!

You are talking to much about your ge thermostat instead of come to the point with the Samsung
