Do you have a video on planing an angle onto the boot sole? I need to figure out how to do that on my telemark Scarpa T Race. I had my Doberman's planed and it changed me from a mediocre to a consistent top 15 racer overnight. Now in my old age of 37 i have hip issues and i think i need to somehow shim my work boots and running shoes. The soles wear really funny and they want to do another hip arthroplasty but i think i just need to fix my feet up.

why is raising the foot up in the boot bad/not preferred? Thanks

You don’t want to lift the foot away from the sole because a) the heel pocket is no longer aligned, b) it changes the flex characteristics of the boot because the lever point is shorter (less power and less control), and finally c) it’s simply changing the fit of the boot. Ideally, you want the foot to reside right where it was meant to giving you the full range, full flex, and full fit of that particular shell surrounding the foot. It’s always better to make a boot bigger than to ever make a boot smaller!
