Cheers. I bought it for my wife who travels a fair bit but I've tried it out/ setting it up. I was dubious to be honest, but I've been impressed by the quality of the image (my only reference was using the Samsung galaxy GearVR with note8/9 smartphones). Size of 130" is a bit meaningless/ misleading because that giant screen must be several metres away! When I use it on my steam deck it's like sitting at a desk with a 34" widescreen monitor, which isn't bad but a far far cry from 130.

I can recommend getting a cheap Samsung S10 vs. getting the beam. It is smaller, has a bit better battery, dex mode, a headphone jack, and much better storage. I use this as my device to download movies and shows to watch on an airplane.

I'm confused about the 130" vs the 300" display. Isn't that an optical adjustment? I don't see how an external device could change the internal optics. It's all 1080p no matter what right?

When playing games is it hard to read the smaller texts in the game? When looking at it from a 3rd person the screen seems extremely small and looks like you’re sitting 25ft away from a smaller TV.

Getting the BEAM for the air 2's is a must for me and glad I got it, The body anchor makes it so much nicer to view, better on the eyes when playing fps games. and generally gives me less neck ache as without I have a tendency to keep my head still so it doesn't move. I feel the beam should be included with the glasses for the price. it needs 120hz mode on the beam.. You can only use it with the ROG ally in 60hz unless I change the display to duplicate then I can have it at 120 even though the beam is in 90 with the ally screen off I get tearing. duplicate mode its smooth but uses more battery . i've only had it a day so I'm still tweaking,

unfortunally it follows ur head s mouvments wich can make u fell a bit dizzy... if u want it to be freezed in the space u gotta buy the beam (additional item )

Xreal will release the air 2 ultra in few weeks. Not much info other than what we can read on their website. Do we need the beam with the air 2 ultra, is it compatible with every iphone/ipad or only the 15. Are there any VR games available for the air 2 ultra. I guess we have to wait for someone to review the upcoming Ultra version

The xreal sucks. Had it for less than a week and returned it. You're better off with a tablet. The edges are infinitely blurry and it's not ready as a go to device. Their customer support is terrible too.
