Your thoughts on is the range , is it considerably better with the 575? Also will be adding a portable like the GXT 67 Pro I know there is considerable difference in the power level from the 575 to the GXT 67 Pro your thoughts on using the GTX 67 Pro in vehicle plus having the ability to be portable versus the MXT575 or 275. Ok friend, I received this radio today. I'm disappointed. Firstly, the backlight doesn't stay on. Secondly, my Wouxun KG Q10G (a superior radio) with a Nagoya 15 inch GMRS whip gets much better and clearer reception that the Midland. While I love the red screen, the fact it doesn't have a clock reminds me of the Ailunce HAG1, which is probably just as good as the Midland if not better. Considering it has only been available for purchase for about 3 days, not very many. But for someone that wants a simple, easy to use, _quality_ radio for outdoor/adventure use, this is one of, if not the, best choice. Those looking for a lot of bells and whistles, those that never leave the couch, or someone that does not want to spend more than a few $, would not be interested in this radio. I am pretty sure I kinda pointed this out in the video.. multiple times.

Gets poor reviews on Amazon BTW. It does not even have a removable battery, nor the ability to charge it without the charger, so meh. I will stick with my Retivis NR30.

Just a friendly note, Nearly all antennas are Removable, it's just that some antennas may not be PutBackInPlacable. That is all.

This video was a masterpiece among other masterpieces by Randy. The theme of the radio being for "regular people" reverberated throughout the production! Whether it was Randy's quite regular canine companion, or the waterproofing which could come in handy if a regular operater were to accidentally drop this radio into the porcelain throne while communicating and enjoying their regularity, this video quite well communicates that the radio IS for regular people! Also, note the noise cancelling feature, which not only works and works very well, but imagine how it would reduce background echo and other noises associated with a room often used by the most regular amongst us. Randy, you outdid yourself this time! 😁👍

I got a text from Midland earlier today and I have been waiting for your video to come out. With your usual excellent customer service, I didn’t even have to wait a day. This radio is better than I expected. The battery life, NOAA monitoring, waterproofing, as well as it being a superheterodyne radio is phenomenal. The only thing that wasn’t mentioned in your review is that you can change the screen backlight color (according to their web site). The Midland GMRS radio is a decent radio, but not for the price. So what if it comes with a great case, big deal. I'd rather have a squelch knob at the top, you know, right where the Chinese radios have a flashlight (but the Midland radios have innovative black plastic). This sounds petty, but dammit, you put the thing in the cradle and instead of having a cool red light that turns green, this one routes the juice through the radio itself. I'd rather have it the way the Baofeng designs its radios. The review gets a thumbs up 👍. Midland gets a decisive thumbs down 👎. I could buy seven Chinese GMRS radios for the same price. And the Chinese radios would let me buy whatever antennas I wanted, and allow me to carry extra batteries. And I could get color displays and keypads, and I'd be able to unlock my radios and get 8W output. This would allow me to use taller antennas and/or longer cables. And I could use repeaters my Chinese radios. So they can keep their crummy case. This thing isn't even as good as the Chinese radios!

Good vid Randy. Midland quality is good but the price on this one, like many of their products is undesirable for me and likely too much for many other GMRS users. My much more affordable (for me and likely many other GMRS Users) 3 Radios with great performance, I’m very happy with are The Radioddity DB25-G Base in my Truck & Home Base with a Midland - MXTA26 MicroMobile 6DB Gain Whip Antenna & and 2 BAOFENG UV-5G HT's with Extended Nagoya NA-7771G 15.3" Whip Antennas All support Chirp for easy programming.

I still cant wrap my head around why these radios are so expensive. They are terribly limited in capability, yet are 2 to 10 times more expensive than mod'd HT's that cover the 2m/70cm ham bands AND GMRS freq's. A Yaesu FT65 is $109 at HRO and can be unlocked by pushing a few buttons... and the Baofengs are what ? $20 a piece ? Is the FCC approval sticker on the Midland worth all that extra money ???

Being IP67 rated and packaged individually in a quality case the GXT67 Pro resembles the discontinued GXT5000. The biggest difference being the GXT5000 was limited to 0.5 watt.

Looking at a purchase and looked at the detailed user manual. Hey Midland, why is this rated as IP67 when page 24 of your user manual indicates this should NOT be immersed? IP 67 calls for a device to be protected from immersion submersion for 30 minutes at 1 meter depth and still be functional or if you prefer protected from accidental splashes and immersion. I do like the large display.

Still has the stupid blister pack belt loop. Ugh almost. Even the GXT1000 has a regular belt clip. Can you do a comparison between the GXT/LXT series and this. Maybe even a blister pack shootout with other OTC brands (Cobra/Motorola)

I dunno... you can buy some really nice Wouxon cases from Buy Two Way Radios. To be fair they don't actually come *with* any of their radios, but they're available to buy separately. I think they're even better than what the Midland comes with because they have cloth pockets for the radios and elastic bands for the chargers instead of cut styrofoam, plus the zippered mesh pocket for manuals, extra batteries, antennas, etc.

Your pencil keeps getting more worser. After pointing out several times in multiple videos that the tip was broken, NOW it appears that someone has been chewing on it - a lot. As you are a KZbin superstar and influence people, especially children, please replace it with a new #2 pencil that has been appropriately sharpened. New pencils may be acquired at any office supply store and/or most large chain grocery stores or dollar-type stores. Note that those made in China may contain lead and so may not be safe to chew on. You should also say in your videos that pencils should not be chewed on to more properly influence those that you have already influenced. I will have to give this video a thumbs down until I see this has been corrected.
