For the comment replies above me, it does work and I've tried for 1080p but the video encoder can only handle mp4 for me. Everything else starts lagging. Not an issue but letting people know here.

I would just listen directly from the headset connected to the console, and not from the Wave XLR. And use the chat link to pull line out audio from the headset's DAC.

with pass through capture cards such as elgato or avermedia its possible with the above setup..for cheaper capture cards without pass through you would have to get a 3x hdmi 2.1 cables + hdmi 2.1 splitter too

It’s partly essential because I couldn’t use the XLR microphone without some sort of interface. I like the Wave XLR because of how easy it is to use and the software

Just get the Shure MV7 k it supports both usb and XLR at the same time and I use the vocaster one for the XLR connection to my MacBook

you can stream! Even in 4K on platforms like KZbin. Other than that, theres no other purposes a capture card serves outside of pulling your gameplay picture in to be captured.

YOU DO NOT NEED TWO SEPARATE POD MICS. You just need a mic to connect to XLR for stream and a headset/mic to connect to PS5. Use ElGato chatlink wire to connect headset to controller and capture card.

@MidnightMan Question re: Using the Wave Link software vs separating channels directly through OBS. Doing it the way you’ve shown in this video has all sound coming through one channel so post editing you can splice different audio sources. Vs Doing this in OBS allows you to do so. Is there an advantage to either option? A combination of both? What do you specifically use? In your most recent set up it appears you don’t use to XLR but you do use wave link software. @@TAJ88AMINU I figured it out you plug the usb regularly into your ps5, direct all audio to the mic, then plug a chat link pro to the output port on the DAC, then plug the other end of the chat link pro to the front of the elgato 4K X, then you must use the elgato utility software to change the audio input from digital to analog

hey MM, quick question. I've been making music for a bit so ive already got a solid xlr mic, studio headphones, and an audio interface (not the wave link). If I want to start streaming, am I better off buying a new usb mic and a capture card or is there a way i can use my current xlr mic for streaming and for talking to people in game chats/party chats¿ I used my xlr mic to stream today through streamlabs with no capture card but I noticed some controller latency and also any chat audio from others was coming through my controller. sorry, maybe not such a quick question afterall.

4K60 actually works fine for me, I just didn't do it for this particular video (should have in hindsight). 4K 120 stutters like crazy for me on the other hand.. hope that gets better.

I was having issues with encoder overloading smh. So I been using x264 instead of hevec but once I stream to KZbin it’s max output at 1440p60

Hi there, thanks for this video. I followed your guideline to set up mine, the difference only is, I use OBS. I can see the PS5 HDMI signal in OBS but I cannot pass through the video signal to my 4K TV via Elgato 4K X. So, I try to test my HDMI cable directly connected with my PS5 and 4K TV, it is perfect to see 4K 120hz with HDCP disabled, hence I can confirm my HDMI cable is working fine under this situation. What other settings I am doing wrong with my Elgato 4K X? Why no pass through video signal to my 4K TV? Any hints?
