Rene Ramirez look you old Jabronies. All I’m saying is, this movie for me and obviously many others is what put street fighter on a higher level then which it was at. The movie is still one of my favorite anime movies. I saw it when I was a child and the lore portrayed gave more weight to the characters back stories. So many iconic moments with ryu and sagat, Vega and chun li. Man and the soundtrack, I found “Alice and Chains” because of this movie. So it played a big role in me growing up. If you were growing up playing it in arcades good on u, but I grew up with this and the Van Dam version. Sooo take your pick?
@conchetumadre81605 жыл бұрын
@@skyural pick of what? Even the van damme version was made because of how popular the game was, I was a child when I first saw those movies as well

@@skyural I grew up playing it in the arcade and the snes, I only saw this movie because my friend had it and the van damme version would come out on tv in the 1990s, but only because this movie is what got you into the street fighter lore or whatever doesn't mean that what you said is true this movie isn't what made SF cool my dude it's what got you into it but street fighter was already cool before it was made so yeah you're not the whole world buddy so take it easy or do you want to smell what's cookin'

Rene Ramirez yea see you’re stuck you can’t seem to comprehend that for someone my age who didn’t have the luxury of having it in arcades growing up. The movie is what gave it life for me as well as others. You’re so offended over something that doesn’t belong to you. You had your experience and I’m expressing mine. Who the hell are you to tell me I’m wrong I’m not. If you were going to the arcades in the early 90s with a pocket full of quarters, cool man I dig it. But the arcade scene was dead by my time, that wasn’t my reality. Street fighter was cool, it can be a bit cheesy. but personally from seeing this movie from a young age, I doubt I would had stuck with it as long as I did.

God, I love Street Fighter so much. Unlike most trendy fighting anime, SF has an abundance of characters everyone can relate to regardless of gender or nationality. Hell, they are so great...they've been teamed up with Marvel.

Really like how casually Guile accepts Bison's invitation to fight, like, some southern strawberry SS psycho just instant transmissions in front of him and his response is to raise his hands and says "That suits me." Guile doesn't even care, he's just there to teach them some 'murican freedom doctrine.

This movie was always bittersweet for me. After some amazing back and forth battles earlier on we get these one sided fights at the end. This was insanely common in 90s action anime. It probably wouldn't have bothered me if it wasn't such a common and heavy handed cliche. This, the fatal fury movie, demon city shinjuku. But it was the first broly movie were I got so sick of the troupe it killed the whole movie for me. Obviously it's a plot device. We all know why it's happening. Build up the villain, build up the tension. But it's too obvious. Too in your face. The heroes look like they aren't just having trouble but are helpless punching bags. That is until the uno reverse card comes out and the comeback happens. And the comeback is usually really fast and unsatisfying after the bad guy beat down went on for 5 to 10 minutes.

In case people say Ken is stronger get than Ryu, Ryu just said he doesn't want to fight his friend like that. So he held back the entire time. Ken can beat through defense which is why he keeps hitting and throwing Ryu. As you can see the beast that is Ryu, all that beating he took and still fought Bison. It shows how strong he can be.

I know a lot of folks would disagree, but I honestly find the music in the Japanese version to be much more in line with Street Fighter's actual musical style. It's Jazzier and more atmospheric than the typical grunge rock/metal from that era they used in Sony's original English dub. Nothing inherently wrong with that type of music, but I definitely feel the music in the Japanese version is far more fitting. Doesn't help that I saw the Japanese version first, I suppose lol. Anyway, fan-frickin-tastic anime film. One of my all time favorites.

Think of it more like an old 80s john woo film. The music is more there and I also feel it's more fitting than the English versions. But in the end I feel they both fit in different ways.
