As a rural european, I can say that we too, use whatever is sticky ebough to work as a bandaid. Hit myself on the hand with an old axe when learning to chop wood. Duct tape worked real nice for that cut!

Duct tape is OK, but this was supposed to be about medicine. Duct tape is better for putting the bumper back on the car. For cuts, you really want to use super glue. Otherwise just rub some more dirt on it, it'll clot.
