You said something today that clicked for me. I have ADHD and have always struggled with cleaning. You said to focus on one thing not the whole kitchen. I did that tonight and I felt so accomplished with how clean I got that area. I am moving around the room and making great progress.

I don't know if my suggestion will help you but it helps me. I start in one corner of the room and work around the room. Good luck cleaning, on area at a time.

That’s awesome! I learned somewhere in my life to only touch something once. Pick it up and find it’s home or if it’s trash, toss it. Of course when you are moving things to clean under them, then that doesn’t apply. It certainly helps me when I have mail and books and clothes etc that need my attention. Keep up the good work ❤

I was always criticized by my family for not finishing anything. But they didn't understand that I had to do things in small steps. A few dishes, then the counter, then the laundry, etc. Everything did eventually get done. Just not in their way. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! 🎂

Kinda related; I almost never take the shortest distance between two points and it drives my dad insane. I cannot get him to understand that if I get lost on the shortest way, it's no longer the shortest way. In actuality, the shortest way is the way that I remember.

Happy birthday! As one who suffers with ADHD, things often get overwhelming. Recently, they jackhammered my floor to fix a collapsed pipe and left concrete dust everywhere in my very large apartment, in every single little tiny nook, cranny, crevice and groove. I learned from you to take one small thing at a time and not look at the cleaning project as a whole. Thank you!

@lindaelliott1653

@@michelle11457 the problem is I can’t use a swiffer duster or vacuum cleaner except on the fabric of my chairs. I’m having to use either Windex or Lysol disinfectant spray that I had and clean everything including all my spices, cans in my pantry, absolutely everything in my closet, all my clothes. Trash cans, appliances, etc. etc.. some of the plastics, like shampoos toothpaste, and such I take to the shower or to the kitchen sink and fill the sink with Dawn dish soap and clean everything that way. It’s a process but it’s getting done one thing at a time. I have to get it clean because of my asthma and I can only do so much at one time because of fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue.

@@Mrs.Silversmith I know the feeling very well. I can’t even get through the concrete dust before everything else is dusty again. I’m changing air filters once a week and they are full. This makes me want to find an elderly person in my area that needs some help and to take a few hours and get some stuff cleaned up for them. you should check with local social services they will have listings of companies that provide PCAs, home health care, etc. there's also a catagory of 'home chores' . They ALWAYS have people that need that type of help, and always need more employees, plus, you could get paid too. It's a blessing in many ways!

As someone with adhd I find that cleaning floors by hand on my hands and knees is so much easier than using mops because it feels like less area to tackle while I'm working in little sections but gradually moving across the whole area. That's my little hack for anyone else who gets overwhelmed by their floors.

For me it's definitely a red flag if a "bachelor" doesn't keep his place tidy when he's alone and has "nobody to impress" because he'll most definitely start slacking earlier or later into the relationship and I'll be doing everything in the end after all, lol. So I most definitely agree. Nothing hotter than a guy who cleans.. especially if there's no one to impress.

I can't explain how much I get out of watching your videos. I suffer depression, and there is something therapeutic about watching you tackle a room and improve it. It's a metaphor for life and it's problems, frustrations, disappointments. You clean it up. If I was working alongside you, I'd be cleaning out and disinfecting the fridge, doing laundry, but I'll never clean an oven. I'd rather go through labor and delivery. Love you loads.

Just so you know, my house was clean, really clean, then I went out of town, and a few days later my husband came and joined me for a few more days. My adult son with bipolar disorder came and really was coming down off of a manic episode. I was so beaten down when we got home, everything is wrecked. I just spent 2 weeks in bed dealing with my own depressive Bull Sh*t. So I started watching your videos and now I’m listening while I do what you do. I just did all the dishes I could find, and I started the dishwasher and did half the upper cabinets with liquid gold. It’s already helping me feel better, I was able to shampoo half my bedroom where he locked the 85 pound dog while I was gone and he had no choice but to urinate on the carpet, well, he tried to do it on a towel that fell off the over the door hook, but his urine spots are like a quart every time. Sons coming out of his depressive state now, there’s no reason to be upset with him, he doesn’t have very many really bad days so…

first happy birthday, ok so when you said a man in his seventys living alone house my first thought was this is gonna be bad, but most of your videos i watched were womens houses and this guy put all them to shame because his was the neatest, a little cluttered but not like we've seen before, i love all the wood in his house.

I am watching this again to help me clean my own house 😂 I hope that the rest of your birthday went well! Did you ever think that by whatever birthday this is that you would have over 130,000 subscribers on KZbin and you would legitimately make a difference in peoples lives every single day? All across the world? You help them clean, you motivate them, you inspire them, You give them hope. I’m so happy that I found you! I never thought that I would watch a cleaning video, but what I really needed was a cleaning video with spin kicks and sarcasm❤ You are the best! Thank you for making such a difference in the world, and for making such a difference in my life. Also I totally dig the shirt and the matching shoes! I’m glad you dressed up for your birthday🎉🎉🎉

I am an hour and 17 minutes late wishing you a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY, "Shoe-Match-Johnny". I admired the nice choice of shirts as I have a nearly identical one myself. Nice to see Dave Grohl take a break from drumming to become "Daniel" the cleaning guy. You're both well-choreographed cleaning that kitchen. Look! More dishes!! 😂😂

Happy Birthday! Thank you for helping people. It amazes me that you do this for free and as a hobby. That's unheard of. Yet here you are making such a difference. I'm sure these homeowners appreciate what you do in ways you can't even imagine.
