Basically before and during your childbearing years you wore bright colors. After your childbearing years you wore darker colors. "Because of me you can live" When Sultan Suleiman later takes the Janissary Commander's head it was to show Sehzade Mustafa where he went wrong. Taking the Commander's head shows Sultan Suleiman's representative has to be shown loyalty and respect, it's deference for the Sultan's choice. In REAL history, of course, none of this could have happened. The Status of Haseki Sultana Hurrem and moreover - her children, including her daughter Mihrimah, was WAY HIGHER than Sultan`s sisters and other of his relatives! historically speaking, no. the term haseki was created for hurrem by suleiman, meaning hurrem was the first person in the ottoman empire (and probably the only i’m not sure about that) to be called that. i don’t know why they refer to mahidevran as haseki in the drama but she obviously wasn’t that.

Mahidevran was never Haseki. The title Haseki was created for Hürrem when Suleiman married her. Suleiman never married Mahidevran. No one before Hürrem held the title Haseki.
