Yeah Kate was protective of her. Jackie hinted at that when she said Kate was outspoken and speaks for her. I think the people behind the show sort of tried to take advantage of them and Kate was against it and spoke up and the was some of the friction that made her leave. Another part was Kate felt there wasnt much substance to the show and didnt like how they wanted them to be half naked alot of the time.

Both Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith kept Cheryl Ladd at a distance when she joined the show. Part of it stemmed from the fact that they were good friends with Farrah Fawcett and missed her very much when she left the series. However, Jaclyn was able to let her guard down and both she and Cheryl eventually bonded and became good friends. However, Kate and Cheryl never developed that rapport off screen. Despite that, this is still my favourite "Charlie's Angels" line up. The onscreen chemistry between these three just clicked whatever differences existed behind the scenes

Yep - he was actually a feminist in that regard. For as old fashioned as he was and still is with his current wife, he recognized that the disparity in pay was wrong and predatory. You have to remember, there was no formal licensing agreement when it came to merchandise either. The producers were making incredible money off of all of them but it was Fawcett who's image on everything from bed sheets, to barbies that made the most and the producers (Spelling) were not sharing the profits! Lee majors was not going to standby and watch that kind of exploitation.

Jaclyn Smith was the most beautiful Angel by far. Her face features are perfection. Her hair was absolutely gorgeous. Farrah's greatest asset was her hair and beautiful smile but her nose and mouth (when closed) were not perfection. Though Farrah was very beautiful too her face features were not perfection like Jaclyn Smith's are. Jaclyn Smith also had the sexiest voice of all the Angels too. yeah..in one of the "DS" books it says that Jaclyn Smith read for the part of "Victoria", but I don't remember is she turned it down to do something else or what. It also said that Kate Jackson had to "lose" her Southern accent and she was thankful that "Dahpne" was a non-speaking role for awhile (such as the case for David Selby). Oh, but I LOVED "Dark Shadows" AND "Charlie's Angels", didn't you?

Jaclyn auditioned for Dark Shadows but couldn't act so she was turned down. Kate on the other hand was so good when she auditioned that everyone who watched her audition was thrilled. She always had amazing screen presence. Kate didn't speak in her role in the first 6 weeks. After that she did. As for her accent. By that time Kate had gotten rid of it mostly. I love her slight Southern accent.

Jaclyn did or Kate did? I remember reading that Kate, at this time, could not accept any speaking parts in tv shows due to her being in acting school or something like that. That was why when she appeared as the ghost of Daphne Harridge on the show at first, her character never talked. If you meant Jaclyn, that's Dark Shadows trivia I never knew, and I usually pride myself on DS trivia.
