In the early 70's I worked restoring telephones for sale to corporations. We actually did market "flocked phones" in a number of themes. Sales were initially good, however, just because you can do it, doesn't mean you should. The technology for long term use wasn't ready. Narragansett Bay

The hex paternities is cool, but a bold color under it would have been better. Maybe a metallic green. The Pacer is just ugly. I don't think it's possible to make it cool.

Agreed. Except for the paint job - I like what Edd did with it. The problem was that there is just no way anyone will pay that much for a Pacer. Every car has a limit to what you can do to it and get your money back. And Edd went WAY beyond it. To be fair, I am not sure anyone outside of North America could fully appreciate what a dull rep the Pacer has.

@@aaryeshg.6526 My father actually owned one - it was rather comfortable to ride in, for a small car. The problem was AMC advertised the HECK out of it. It was originally supposed to come with a rotary engine. But when that fell through - it ended up being a wide, small car with fairly, crummy gas mileage (because it was quite heavy). So sales flopped and it was perceived as a big dud for AMC. On top of which, it's mostly the headlights and the fish bowl look of the car that got the most criticism. I always thought it was kinda cute - though I NEVER liked the headlights...too bug-eyed.

This turned into a stunningly looking car. Looks like a lunar module. And that's frankly the only place you can actually drive it: outer space. That all white interior will get messed up on this planet as soon as you set foot inside.
