I wonder if any home owners after HoH's basically took the episode to the judge and point to it and basically say "see what I had to go through to fix the house?!?!?! Can I get that lien taken off and back sue them!"

It is pretty much assured the contractor got no more money and the lien was removed. They probably never sued because the contractor would just declare bankruptcy. Which they would have had to anyway when their license got revoked over this job.

That’s what I would think. Have a video of what it look like before and then after what Mike was doing a show the judge how much work the guy did and didn’t do. Mike does a better job than what that guy did.

💕Seems inspectors need to come out a lot more in between each install before anything is closed up💕That way an inspector writes up a report which is signed by said company name & address OR builder with name & address With 3 copies 1 copy for builder 1 copy for inspector’s office & 1 copy to local borough planning department💕All done before anything is covered over💕THEN 1 final inspection to have the finish passed💕

I've often been mildly irked by Mike and Crews apparent disdain for 2nd floor laundry rooms....Yes you have to beef up the structure under and around such rooms to do it right. But IT can be done properly.

He has done them, but i think he wants the floor lowered to contain a leak, the space treated like a shower as far as waterproofing the walls/floors and a floor drain installed. Its a lot of work.

@@sachadee.6104 Shaking can also be helped by building a platform with vibration dampening connections/feet etc. Shaking is a a problem that can have solutions.

Mike said 75k of work😮 I can't understand that cost. Maybe 50k. Unless there was other work off camera. I love that DuRock Jewelstone treatment on the porch. I looked locally for a Contractor that does similar work. Didn't find anyone experienced 12 years ago. I need to check again now.

How is it he can do all those modifications without first getting an architect and engineer to draw up plans and submit them for plan check and approvals, then pull the permits. Makes me wonder if he is doing it without permits?

Outstanding homeowners, hope after this episode they have enough evidence to sue the original contractor. Mike contradicted himself when he told Damon not to touch the wall, but take down the bulkheads, as bulkhead is a Navy term for a wall. ‘That’s what I m hoping” was too funny.

In my opinion putting a lien on a house is a blackmail strategy. Better would be going to court or arbitration where someone independent checks the work.

If a contractor did shoddy work on my house and then put a mechanic’s lien on my home bc I refused to pay until he made it right, that would be the last lien he’d ever get!

Mr.Mike this is what I was talking about, he lien the owner, smart thing they did is stop paying him until the Job is done, if they take a video of that claim to be 90 percent and it doesn't show that nothing is 90 percent and it proves that he taking owners money without one Job is completely, can the house owner can sue him, the proof is on the video.

I guarantee they had NO permits for electrical, plumbing, Deck, and framing. No inspector would have passed anything. they should have been watching everything these guys did, and ask questions. Your paying them. remember no permits, no work. If you have to take a month off from work -do it.

Well I would like to know what happened about the contractor if the lean was taking off the house I sure hope so after Mike in his crew went in there and put everything back up to code I hope he don't get away with that that would be wrong and I know Mike and them done video so if it goes to court there's all your video what Mike Holmes had to do to your home I just love that man he is so kind and so sweet but I hope you do not let them contractors get by with that

There is “Code” and everything that’s more expensive… When Holmes says things like “Minimum Code “ he’s talking nonsense and he’s acting like the contractors he’s supposedly trying to counter … people buy into that and instead of getting the regular batt insulation that is perfectly fine for their house and wall assemblies they go with the more expensive Sprayfoam that quadruples the price and does exactly what the Fiberglass batt insulation does if it’s installed correctly …. This stuff works when he’s talking to people that have no experience but Trades people look at him and see through his nonsense!

The screw in the line was done by homes and his crew to make it look worse. They rip everything out so they have more work to make money. Some of this work there was nothing wrong with it. Yea alot was done wrong but its a show like all other shows. They have to make it look bad so people watch it

You think Holmes staged hiding the tub outlets inside the wall on a double GFCI circuit? lmao, screws happen in wires/pipes more than you think, this is why they keep mandating more plates and stuff. Everything he demolished had to be taken out either to be fixed or to get at the stuff that needed fixing.

IT was already bad so there was no reason to add the screw. Especially for something that has a pending legal case. It would be considered fraud.
