When I was a young girl I was completely in love with Mike Oldfield. (Platonic, of course). Now we're old, he's older than me, of course, but he's still really handsome. His music has been the company of my life and I will continue listen it until the end
Was it ommadawn? It was for me. I was born in 1971, my folks played the record when i was a young child. It was wonderful.

It was heregest ridge for me. Born in 64 but discovered his music in 1980. I miss the 70s very much but his music takes me back to that decade evertime. Bliss . oh and not forgetting omadawn and incantation. Heaven on a turntable. Thanks mike.

Mike Oldfield has created innovative, sincere, complex, and eternally beautiful music. He will go down in history as a virtuoso multi-instrumentalist and a composer of highest caliber. This song is lighter in character. If you are familiar with Mike's personal life, you should know that he struggled with many psychological and personal issues (lots of us did too, but that's not the point). The man is now HAVING FUN. Guess what? He CAN. But above all, Mr. Oldfield knows what he's capable of. He's done it all - done it very well and much, much better than even the best out there. Cheers.

This song is a real tonic. Mike is known for his timeless classics but he knows how to produce classic pop! The young Luke Spiller is a perfect choice. Looks like they had a lot of fun making the video too. Rock On Mike.
@zk5132 жыл бұрын
Mike always preferred writing music like Tubular Bells, Hergest Ridge, Crises etc: complex, long, meditative pieces. However, he admitted once that he was somewhat "forced" to write short "pop-ish" songs to satisfy a greater public that he usually placed on the B-sides of his records. This is how classics like Moonlight Shadows, Man in the Rain, Shine, Shadow on the Wall, Crime of Passion - and also Sailing - were born.

This album proves that Mike still knows how to write pop music, this feature song is easy listening and you will find yourself singing in the chorus, reminds me of the 1980days of Moonlight Shadow, Crises, Shadow on the wall, Poison Arrows etc ❤

It is incredible that a multifaceted composer and guitar player (one of the best) from the 70s and 80s shows us that after concentrating on New Age music, then even makes non-pop rock that he compose it masterfully, and he also has such an ear that he knew how to choose this great young voice, perfectly fine as he did in the 80s with Moon Light Shadow and in the 90s with Man in the Rain. Olfield is one of the best musicians ever, and this last afirmation is not an exageration. Gos bless him!

Hi. I’m just discovering this most brilliant album. It’s a masterpiece. There’s an edge but a lightness and of course some amazing chord structures in these songs. I wish Mike would write more vocal albums.

I am an "old school" epic Oldfield fan where TB, Hergest Ridge , Ommadawn and Music Of The Spheres rule but I have to say this is very catchy and I have caught myself singing it more than once so it is defo growing on me.
I can't help but feel Mike Oldfield deserves more recognition. Most poeple that have heard his music know he's a great musician, but I think he desrves much more. We mostly don't see him in rankings on the best music acts and people do not talk about him that much. His soundtrack on The Killing Fields wasn't even nominated for the Oscars and he only has won one Grammy. I think he should have won more and it seems people only know him because of Tubular Bells and ''Moonlight Shadow'' when he has put out amazing records like Hergest Ridge, Ommadawn, Platinum, QE2, Crises, Discovery, Amarok, The Songs of Distant Earth, the Tubular Bells sequels, Man on the Rocks....
