I'm amazed at his pedal work! Extremely difficult to use only one foot (and in sandals!) all over the pedalboard. And he is always accurate! Just amazing. I'm a trained organist and we use 2 feet and special shoes lol. I get why he has to use only one foot and I am just amazed at how precise he is. Wonderful job!

How is it even possible to do the complex and rapid work of the hands, and then do the footwork too? Notes are rapid in succession and many times many at the same time. I swear I could never do it. To me it is a lot of hard work and practice coupled with a Godly gift ! -john

Not that I would personally know that chap, but from his pedal work I guess he had a pretty good education as a church organist.

What a marvellous thing to discover Mike while searching some Hammond organ examples on KZbin. What elegance, virtuosity and class! I'm sad to read in the comments that he's no longer with us. I would have loved to tell him that his wonderful videos would illustrate one of my courses at the University of Strasbourg, France. May he rest in peace, thanks for letting us great music.

Mike's music has always touched my soul. I came across his videos only 2 years ago. You could always feel Mike putting his soul into the music. His feeling with which he played the Hammond organ was somehow unique. I will miss his music. I hope to meet him in musician heaven someday. R.I.P.

Thanks. This has always been one of my favorite songs and I listened to it a lot in the 1960's on juke boxes. I tend to like "mournful" sounding songs and it wasn't until years later that I learned that Bobby Hebb wrote this after his older brother had been stabbed to death.
