Teringventje Being short is advantage in wrestling mostly. Having reach in boxing is quite important but only if you know how to use it. Pairing your physical attributes with the right style is crucial(to anything you do). Obviously for Mike his height and aggressive fighting style went together perfectly.

I find it amazing, when you watch older/retired boxers or professional fighters. Even when they are much slower, older and even have hip, leg or shoulder issues when they retire, they all move with that same fluid, sharp movement. That muscle memory of them doing the same thing for 10/15/20 years doesn't ever go away. When they are demonstrating things, you can still see flashes of their body just going back to what it knows from instinct. I always find it amazing to watch.

yeah thatd be cool, although this is just my opinion. Mike Tyson faught with traits you cant just teach people, of course he has alot of skill but i think most of his power came from wanting to tear a guys head off... literally. MonopolyNetwork but that is all about boxing, to create your own style. my boxing style was different than from my coach, but that doesn't mean he can't teach me stuff that will be handy in my style. the samething mike tyson could do. it isn't about creating yourself over, but creating an new boxer, a boxer that will surely be successful.

harrybaules He was never 5’11. He said he’s 5’10 himself. Check out his 2010 Larry King interview. Also celeb heights has him listed at 5’10. In his tale of the tape against Ribalta the announcers say he looks closer to 5’9 than 5’11. Look at the weigh in with orlin norris. Norris is said to be 5’10 and Mike looks shorter if anything. Mike was never 5’11 quick spreading fake news

poker slob Sugar Ray Robinson is still the GOAT and I'm not just going by popular opinion. All that he accomplished from lightweight to light heavyweight will never be matched. If we're talking pure boxing ability that's not close either. Ali himself patterned his style after Ray, he was his hero growing up.

romulusbeats 1 Your sentence started out, "i was just tryin to say I liked your comment you creep..." Hmm, so using the word "dead" is some great form of acceptance?? Your simple-minded appraisal meant nothing. You finished this sentence with, "... and you respond by insulting my intelligence." Judging by your irrational reply and all the inappropriate language, there really wasn't much to insult. You laid it on thick like an idiot true to his craft. Do you go this far overboard with every disparaging remark you read online?

One of the all time greats and one of the top tier boxing historian. Not only was Mike a great fighter and Champion but he is one of the greatest students of the game. He studied all those great fight films and documentaries that Jim Jacobs and Cayton owned. Tyson is a pure throwback fighter and he loved those guys from the 20s and 30s. The guys who fought 300 times like Harry Greb. Henry Armstrong. He was the Jack Dempsey of his time.

Well that's why he had way better inside punches and would destroy taller people with an inside advantage while they had an outside one so it makes the shorter man have to work harder to get his range but if he's good enough to get there and match it with the rhythm and timing then it's over for the taller reach man
