The small is fantastic for getting your speed built up once familiar with your striking. The medium bag provides a considerable amount more resistance building more strength in your punches. I highly recommend both sizes. Some people have expressed concern over the latex bladder leaking down more frequently than the traditional rubber. I have not found this to be an issue at all.

I’ve seen an 1100 before from a skinny dude. He told me that in no way does the machine read power of the individual hitting it. There’s technique in how you make contact and where in your swing at max velocity you should aim for contact. 8-900’s are typical for most. Calibration pending and height plays a huge factor. Too tall or too short kills the power. Gustoffson had a serious adjustment to his natural swing which hindered his true power output. Raise the bag six more inches and he’s hit high nines. Doughboy had it just right on level.

Yeah these things are a gimmick. I punched one with a sweet straight right, good form like you should use when fighting, like 700ish. Then gave it the downward windmill shot and it was high 800's. This was year ago, I'm 135lbs. It's more technique than actually measuring a "good form" punch. Spot on comment 👍

@@igallagher4 It motivated me even more, I trained even harder for a year straight. But yeah, it was extremely frustrating. My friend's little brother beat me and I would whoop him any day of the week. He wouldn't even light spar with me lol.

Exactly right. A mid power overhand punch above centerline on the bag will score 900+ on these with a little practice. The trick is for the lower part of the bag to snap back under your hand while you follow through with a pronounced downward hook. It slingshots upward when you do it right

If you’ve ever hit one of these machines you’ll know it’s mostly about where you hit it that will determine your score I’ve hit 900 on some and then under 800 on others lol

It makes all the difference when someone runs at it to hit it vs standing still and hitting it

I love how some of them run at it, while stevens, Barry, and Florian stood their ground. Edit: the “I love how they run at it” remark was sarcasm. Technically it’s cheating, those who stood their ground are the true sluggers.

The ones running at the bag are not cheating but it definitely helps me applying more force.. I think the ones standing their ground are more legit..

Doesn't matter how hard you punch you're more than depends on your snap I had a bigger guy who trained boxing you sat there and practiced and practiced and practiced and when he hit the bag it come up 9:50 my hands are down by my wrist and I snapped the punch and hit 975 also got in trouble for kicking it at a bar

It's easily measured: take hard low kick from someone who takes short 5m sprint and kicks versus kick from same person standing still. In both cases you need pad, but running + kick is still like being hit by a car.
