1. Always pay yourself even if it is a $1.00 an hour. 2. Door to door sales is KING and someone (you or your father) should be selling every day! Sh*t can the Ad Agency. 3. Web Site (concentrate on getting reviews and show lot's of pictures of happy customer's yards). 4. When providing a service on a yard put up a Big Company Yard Sign with phone number (obviously take with you when done).

This young man’s attitude about employees is awesome, it’s not you work for me, it’s we work together. I am a supervisor in a fab shop with 25 guys. I don’t tell people what to do, I ask them, John would you moping doing this today? Never you are doing this. I learned that from my mom, “You get more flies with honey than vinegar” She always said treat people how you want to be treated. And I work in a union environment? I never complain and never give someone sh*t for screwing something up, I always say it’s an experience “chalk that one up to experience”

Interesting video! This is something I’ve been thinking about because as of now I work full time for a property management company and have a lawn care business on the side and I have finally worked my way up to being able to take over the property management properties and go full time for myself. Like Mike said buying reviews with free services is the best route. I know that leaving a review helps you waaaaaay more than me. Everyone wants something for their time essentially. Personally the service or experience would have to be crazy good for me to leave a free review, or it's a person I develop a relationship with such as my massage therapist.

The problems with agencies is there terms. Just starting out you need cash flow because light on cash. Waiting 30 to 60 days to get payed can sink the ship.

Sub-Contracted work and Management companies are good to fill schedule holes and to get you started. You have to move away from it ASAP though. They rip stuff away without care constantly and will leave you in a bad spot every time. We do large commercial but they are OUR INDIVIDUAL CLIENTS/CONTRACTS.

He probably went through Mirror Lawn to get those Kindercare clients. They’re a notoriously bad middle man company, Net 90 and they still miss their payments, and they take the absolute lowest bidders and pay peanuts. Honestly he’ll be glad they parted ways later on.

Best time I’ve found to get close to 100% compliance with review requests is to request them IN PERSON IMMEDIATELY AFTER successfully completing the 1st job for the person. For maintenance you must add this step not just for review but just as important to confirm the customer is satisfied. Timing is critical for success getting the review.
@HouseFlipHandyman7 ай бұрын
For every 1st ‘recurring’ job AND upon completion of ALL 1 off jobs, I’ll meet w/customer showing them the completed work they’re about to pay for. It’s at this very moment as soon as the person smiles & confirms we did good, pull out your phone, text them a review link & request they do it right then & there & don’t leave without your review. And your money!
@samuelsnowbarger20527 ай бұрын
Yeah I hear you but that’s pushy and your presence is a demand for the review.
@HouseFlipHandyman7 ай бұрын
@@samuelsnowbarger2052 besides stacking up reviews, it’s wise to Confirm the customer is satisfied with the service by asking instead of just assuming you’re so great or like most not even considering the customer experience. It's a big gamble, but for me, the largest client I'd even consider would be limited to break-even net profit if they left. Even that's sketchy in case you have other big clients and can't handle a second one leaving. If your revenue is diversified and there're some major gains to be made from one big contract, I may take the risk as long as it couldn't leave me in the red if something goes wrong.

Add agencies in my experience at least where i live aren’t worth the expense. Most businesses need to take these burdens on themselves especially in the beginning because your revenue isn’t there yet. Ive had many friends pay add agencies and end up letting it go because it doesn’t work. Maybe it works in certain areas for certain businesses, but most of the work i ever got was by word of mouth and knocking on doors.

Has anyone else dealt with the bidding platforms? Berkshire owned entities are turning over the bidding to bidding platforms… i had one call me on behalf of Amazon properties and also a long y time customer used it this spring. Its basically a way for the hedge funders to gather even more data … eventually they will start their own companies and bid on $50M in revenue over night. Stealing everything from the what small companies are still left

It's about $250 a month to advertise in it and I built a lawn care business out of thin air just out of the paper and so have alot of other businesses.

You have to take a step back and think about what you do, when you have a business do work for you do you immediately jump on your phone and give them a review every single time when you go to McDonald’s when you go to Taco Bell when you go to Walmart do you give every single place you walk into a review. Nowadays everyone is asking for review and it can give review fatigue Where people don’t even want to do it myself included at time to take 20 seconds and do it. The other end of it is that to give a well worded review, takes a good bit of time and there’s not just like “hey nice job” Those types of reviews are appreciated, but not a real driver of business.
