I first started watching your channel about a year ago after seeing a video of Draco in action. I've since made the decision to go back to school and work towards a degree in mechanical engineering. I've got to say, you've been a huge influence on me. Whenever the going gets tough I remind myself of all that you and your brother have built, accomplished, and overcome and it pushes me to keep going. I've always had a fascination with flying and despite having never flown until this past year I find myself striving to learn what goes into the design and building of an high performance bush plane. I just want to say thank you for what you do and keep at it. I can't wait to see Scrappy take flight, and since moving to Arizona maybe there's a chance I'll get the opportunity of seeing it in person. Who knows, maybe I'll end up working for you one day. I can't think of a better way to learn from the best.

Watching your build has restored my faith in humanity. As a trained engineer having worked across many disciplines and sciences I have become very jaded with the KZbin engineering community. The number of so called experts, engineers, technicians and home builders getting simple math, physics, chemistry, engineering and electronics incorrect is astonishingly high (I wish it was possible to have their certifications, education and channels revoked). It is fantastic to watch somebody understand, implement and build something correctly. The astounding number of trained professionals who do not understand simple concepts and continually push false information on to the unsuspecting masses should be ashamed of themselves. Keep going hard and strong Mike.

@@richardsmith4187 I think Mike's biggest advantage over a commercial shop trying to compete with a built like this is that when Mike has an idea, while he may get input from someone else, the decision is his. He doesn't have 27 kibitzers in the wings, saying "Oh no, we can't do that, or, we really should do it this way, or we can't afford that. Let's talk with Planning first." He can probably wake up with a kernel of an idea, scribble some notes and be through the 1st revision before his coffee gets cold! Try that in a typical manufacturing shop!

Hi Mike, I'm from the UK and just wanted you to know how much I enjoy your videos. I originally "found" you after seeing Draco pop up as a recommendation on my feed a few years ago and I then followed the entire build up of that and have been a subscriber ever since. I am not a pilot (although I love aircraft and have shelves full of books and magazines on planes, it's more from a technical view point) and you and your videos are truly inspirational - what you give back to the aviation community is nothing short of amazing and can only be highly commended. Covering Scrappy with 500 names shows exactly the sort of person you are and is the reason why I am taking my time to type this to show my appreciation of what YOU do. I can't wait to see the places Scrappy can now get to thanks to this unique suspension design. It's this kind of approach to engineering that keeps even non-aviation people like me hooked, combined with your Singer(Porsche)-esque attention to detail ("Everything is important"). Please keep doing what you do so that we can keep watching these awesome projects take shape.

It's a pleasure to follow every episode on your channel and watch the build. I sincerely appreciated the way you gave tribute to all those in your general aviation life by putting their names and organization on Scrappy. That's classy! What an amazing build! Mike you certainly take it to a new level. In our company, if we had to make a part, once we had been through business problem statement, engineering optioneering, strength of materials analysis, design assurance, prototyping etc. etc. etc., you have already made the part, painted it and deciding how many more layers of clear to put on to make it smooth. Truly inspirational. Thank you and like all your other supporters, can't wait for the next video. Greetings from Bedford, UK.

I love that you are always so busy that you're literally just giving out business ideas even though you already have all the tooling set up and could easily do a quick production run of those pass-throughs and sell them yourself. As if you had time for that eh? 🤣 BACK TO WORK 💪🤠

As someone who's always dreamed of flying but never actually done anything about it, watching these videos has me thinking very heavily about taking the first steps... your enthusiasm in building these planes is so awesome and inspiring to me. Its made me examine how I build my cars!
@brentjohnson66544 жыл бұрын
Yes, his enthusiasm is contagious! SuperCruiserStudios, you should definitely try it out. Go for a intro flight at a local airport. I did that very thing in 1975 in high school and I was all in! Best of luck in your adventure!!

As a CFI I say go for it, learn to fly, you won’t regret it. With exception that building cars will probably take a back seat. And if your a car builder, a suggestion would be to check out Experimental Light Sport Aircraft, it’ll allow you to work on the aircraft since your already mechanically minded. Side note: Rotax engines are great but expensive $$,$$$ people are doing some amazing things now with snow mobile engines. Yamaha Apex 998cc $2500

Just when I think you couldn't possibly surprise me, you go and do it again ... with EVERY Scrappy episode! Now I can picture the final product a little (I know you'll surprise us with something else before she's done, lol), and what a beauty this thing will be! Nice touch with the names, Mike - that right there confirms what I already sensed about you, brother. If we had more people like you in the world, it would be darn near perfect. You are awesome! Hope some day to shake your hand. 👍🍻
