Won’t matter unless Hackett is gone. He’s a dud of an OC. Lafleur wasn’t better for Wilson. These teams don’t get seem to get it. You can draft the most highly touted prospect and he’ll fail if he goes to the wrong team. Purdy and Stroud are both young QBs having success. The one trait is that they are being coached by personnel from the same system. Look at Trevor flourish under Pederson, Taylor, and McCoy’s guidance. Tank all you want, but the next QB will be a flop too if the right personnel isn’t in place.

The Jets are somehow in a worse spot now than last year at this time at QB. Rodgers is rushing back which I think is going to blow up and end his career and they don’t have a back up plan because Wilson was the back up plan. The one thing that I notice is not only he is unfairly dogpiled on for things outside his control but also he has NO protection from his offensive line! Receivers don’t separate and have more inconsistent hands than Karadius Toney, the running back position for them isn’t great either! They don’t even help him with play action at all or take pressure off of him. This kid who is barely even at 25 years of age still has potential but his confidence has got to be shot beyond shot right now all because of the pieces around him aren’t up to par!

Not excusing Wilson's play, because it's been bad. But to be fair, look at the conditions around him. Pre-snap penalties, holding penalties, horrible play calling, horrific blocking (or no blocking at all), dropped passes all over the place. You could put Tom Brady on this team and he'd look terrible. So it's really tough to accurately judge Wilson, good or bad. It does look like he's lost all confidence, and some guys never get that back. A lot like David Carr in the early days of the Houston Texans. Ruined his career before he ever had a chance to succeed.

No protection from the O'line so no time to pass the ball and no time to set up any kind of run game. Rodger's in his prime isnt getting this team wins either. Zachs issue now is his confidence is shot, you can see it in play he is panicking trying to save himself rather than looking down field for an out. There again there are usually no outs even if he looks, which leads to turnovers as he tries ro make something happen. I think he is pretty much finished in the NFL now, unfortunate but thats how teams with top 5 picks work - no time to develop; either ball out or get out the revolving door.

I really do think that there’s no saving Zach Wilson at this point. You can’t really say that he can turn it around in a better situation because he honestly couldn’t have been in a better one. Sitting as a backup to one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time with an elite defense. If you ask me, he’s probably either going to turn into a career journeyman or retire in the next few years. It’s a shame.

If I where the Jets, I would fire and get rid of Nathanael Hackett, his team management resume doesn’t look good and his play calling is questionable, and compared to other mangers out there, Nathanael Hackett is not one of them. I would rather get the BYU QB’s Coach that actually has had success with him. All the blame should fall on Hackett, not Zach Wilson, and not the Head Coach, but Hackett. It was Hackett who put Zach in the worst possible situation, it is Hackett play calling that isn’t working with the QB, and It is Hackett who’s team management that is making the Jets the worst team this year. All the blame falls on Hackett’s lap, and he deserves all of it.

Here's the thing Mike.... Speaking as a Jets fan here, we KNEW that the o-line was a problem, injuries are a problem, the field was a problem, and they had every opportunity to fix these issues but made terrible choices. We used our 1st round pick on a situational pass rusher to bolster a roster loaded with DL talent. Yeah, the Pats screwed us outta the obvious pick, but ffs... can we at least think WR then or trade down? Why stick with Atlantic Health for strength and conditioning when your best OL are ALWAYS injured? When they promised to upgrade the field, they opted for the latest and greatest 4.whatever new and improved version of the same old bullshit turf and tire pellets that've been killing knees and careers since they built Snoopy's Diner, because injury guarantees are cheaper than maintaining natural grass somehow? Maybe? Idk. Don't even get me started on how EVERYBODY we brought in to make the A-Rod transition more comfortable for him made this offense so much worse. I feel so bad for the legit talent fielding this dumper fire of an offense like Hall, Wilson, Conklin, AVT, Becton, Izzy, and especially Tippmann... Poor kid got drafted in rd 2 and then was thrust into this unholy nightmare and is expected to make a difference (and had done quite admirably considering). There's a lot of good guards and tackles going into this upcoming draft. I bet we take a talented DB or Safety with at least 1 of our 1st 2 picks. Why? Because they love to punish us, their fans, with their special brand of sadistic ineptitude we lovingly refer to as SOJ (Same Old Jets) Sorry for the cathartic rant

Imho, many of these borderline QBs like Wilson and Love would be better if their offensive line was better. If your run game isnt much either, like the Jets and GB, then hint, hint, the problem could be the Offensive line. Part of the problem also is that the rules give the advantage to the defense. They need to tighten up the rules on pass interference. The defense is sometimes climbing all over the receiver and nothing gets called.
