The use of “hybrid” implies that race is a clear dividing line between two different people. So, while people may give a wry smile while using the word, the underlying message of the humour is that people of different races are more different than two humans in general. Such words are generally not palatable and needs to be discouraged. It is safer to go use other expressions like she is of mixed heritage. She is biracial. She is multiracial. And using terms like “foreigner power” and “yellow fever” should be discouraged. If your preference somehow comes from stereotypes that you have about women of that ethnicity, then there is something wrong with that because it’s a manifestation of racism.

Mike, you brought something to the table that has not been talked about much and this foreigner presents well. He holds true to what is important to him and the woman he is looking for has much to consider and must also be true and honest to herself before she journeys with him. He needs alone time, time to unwind, refocus, meet with friends, travel without her (if that is important to him), not wanting children and the possibility of not wanting to marry. Marriage is not necessarily something he is considering, but definitely looking for a relationship that promises a commitment for life. The need for the filipina to respect those boundaries are very important to him and possibly very foreign to the filipina. This man is true to himself and although he recognizes that his life format might not suit all filipinas, his quest for the right woman remains an important factor.
