The position of the WiFi in the rear shield is annoying, one of the antennas will protrude above the USB ports and interfere with their use. I should have placed them under the top USB ports, where the keyboard and mouse go, like on the X570 Tomahawk. They have also removed the heatsink for the second M.2 that Tomahawk had. For these details, it is preferable B550 Tomahawk and add a Wifi adapter via USB cable, to be able to conveniently move and position the antennas.

the bios flash has been known to work on a fully built system, but if you are building from scratch it is good practice to confirm everything works before putting it into a case so i would just do it on a bare board before you get started. Curious, I bought this motherboard around a month ago or so, along with a free copy of AC Valhalla. I checked other motherboards for the price to performance and found this one to be a good all-rounder. One thing that I want to know is, would this motherboard be great for overclocking the R5 5600X? I'm planning on getting that CPU when it's in stock.

yes it will be, and yes this is one of the best allrounders at the current pricing

Do rgb fans work in the fan slots? Or do you have to put them In The rainbow slot, if so, how many rainbow slots are there?

RGB fans can be plugged into the rgb header or into a hub then into the headers depending on the amount of rgb you have

Sorry if this is an utterly stupid question and it was covered but I’m planning to build my first PC and going to got basically all MSI (I like Dragons and RGB 😅) and learning about this stuff isnt too bad but I have a 120mm Fan in the case I want to get and it’ll take a 360mm AIO and 2 140mm. My question is will all 6 fans connect ok and what connectors will I need to look for when buying the 140’s? Pretty set on the MSI Coreliquid 360mm and want either 2 black fans or 2 RGB, I’m undecided, to mount on top, so if you have some solid recommendations I’d massively appreciate You’ve earned a sub btw your reviews are so much better than some others I’ve watched despite the fact I still struggled in areas 😅 plus its ace watching another Brit instead of all the Americans
@mikesunboxing3 жыл бұрын
thanks for the comment! appreciate it! the MSI ecosystem is pretty sweet in my opinion and sounds like you will have an awesome build. with the fans you should be fine, there are a lot of headers on the board and some of the ones on the AIO with be combined into 3in1 type deals, depending on the ARGB and fans you might be looking to get a fan hub with ARGB like the UPhere set i reviewed ages ago and use with the MSI boards and they work really well. If you want more specific advice or info I am on Discord quite a lot. thanks again for watching and the kind words

when i loaded it up for the first time after flashing it and installing the 5600x and my other stuff, the pc was kinda broken by the bios, because i was stuck in a bios loop. had no idea what i messed up but it wasn‘t my hardware cause everything was plugged in correctly. after nearly 3 hours of troubleshooting and trying random button in the bios, i flipped the switch on the first bios screen that was responsible for putting the mobo in dual bios mode, and for some reason it fixed the issue. so if you have problems like this with this absolutely great value of a motherboard, you can try this. :)
@mikesunboxing3 жыл бұрын
this board doesn't have dual BIOS? Do you mean UEFI / CSM mode? If so the BIOS loop is because the UEFI BIOS is expected modern GPT drives, if it finds older MBR drives it cant boot so defaults to the BIOS config page as a hint

Hey man i read the manual for this board and it showed that all the sys fan headers are dc mode not pmw 4 pins. So if wanted to use pwm fans as case fans would i be able to? Because it says on the manual that the sys fan header pins are actually dc mode. I want to use antec prizm fans as my case fans but they only come with 4 pin connectors. Can you confirm or give your opinion on this. Will 4 pin pwm fans work on this board??
@mikesunboxing3 жыл бұрын
yes all the headers are 4 pin pwm or dc compatible and you can change this setting in either the bios or the dragon centre software
