There are a lot of reviews that show that the VRM setup on this board is pretty weak compared with the more expensive models. But i guess that makes sense. You pay more you get more.
For mid range systems and even high end systems with enough cooling this board can fill a gap in the market. I personally think at nearly £40 less than the next best model up the product stack this is a good option for the majority of users as long as you are aware of its potential weakness.

I'm using this motherboard with ryzen 7 3800X for like a month now, and had no problems for the moment. The temps are very nice. The VR MOS temp never exceeds 50 C, probably the Noctua NH-D15 helps with that. I have never seen the fan of the chip set actually turns it self on. The CPU is going to even 4650 MHz on single core.

As someone who already built pc with the same motherboard I can tell that the most bothersome part is BIOS. Also I got trouble with first boot, Idk why but after I assembled all parts, PC just didn't want to boot (fixed with cmos reset).

I bought this board and 32gb of Corsair vengeance rgb Pro (I had 32gb of vengeance LED but I wanted more rgb), and I also ordered a Deepcool Captain 240 rgb pro, and I got some custom sleeved cables as well. Just waiting on the mobo to get here now. I've already got storage, an m.2 drive, and so I'm going from the 2600x on an ROG Strix b350f with 32gb of Corsair vengeance LED, all over to a 3700x, with the AIO of course, 32gb of vengeance rgb Pro, and I'll eventually get a dif gpu but I've got an MSI Duke RTX 2070 OC, so unless I buy a 4k monitor (I have 1080p 144hz, I want 1440p just haven't bought it yet), I have no real need to change my GPU unless I put a 2080ti or something.

I've had one of these in my pile of parts that I have been collecting for a new build. Lucky for me I chose a Ryzen 3600 and a tower cooler that lets the fan hang a bit low and throw some air at the VRMs. Question about the future: Would you advise against throwing a hypothetical future Ryzen 4900 in this board? I do not want to swap motherboards unless I can get useful new features at the same time.

i like this video. i recently bought the msi x570 edge gaming board and installed it. i actually like it for the fact that is has everything i need to add more stuff to it like rgb strips and m2 or ssd. it loads faster then the other board i had in the case. easy to install and easy to set up. thanks for the video. nice to know all the components to the board.

I just got this board and the chipset fan was spinning at max rpm all the damn time. Turns out one of the fanheader pins on the board was bent. (all hail google!) It took a very fine needle and the camera app with zoom on my phone to very carefully bend it back into place. Now the fan works as expected. There are some more people who had the exact same problem out there, so I hope I've helped someone out with this comment.

I'm building a pc for the first time, but I'm headache on the Motherboard, because I want to make sure it can be upgraded to 4th gen 4000-series in the future, is this got any issue for the upgrade? no one knows for sure that any of the current boards will work with 4000 series zen 3 so i wouldn't worry to much. the x570 and b550 are the most likely to support them followed by b450 and x470

I wonder how well the Gigabyte GA AX370M DS3H motherboard that you reviewed stands up to this X570 after all this time? Do the VRMs perform better or the same as the X570 MB? Upgrading to a 3900x is apparently pushing the Gigabyte X370 to it's limit.

in my opinion this board is good value right now at around £140 but if you can get a Asus TUF near that price anywhere that would be my choice it is a much better board overall but both will support those processors

I own this board. I paired it with a 2700x. I have an all core boost to 4.2 GHz with a -.1 vcore offset, which required a dark rock 4 pro with 3 fans, but it is stable. I got a great deal on the 2700x and purchased this board so I could upgrade to the Zen 3, 4000 series in the future. I've had no problems with it.

I like how you put things in perspective. For a normal budget or midrange build this will do the job just fine for a good price. I wouldn't pair this one with a Ryzen 9, shell out a little more and go for something like the Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite or Asus TUF Gaming. The new MSI X570 Tomahawk looks very promising as well.

@@keith_chung With 10+2 phases it should be able to handle something like a 3900X if you're not going to overclock it. I did find a dutch review of the Gaming-X with the same VRM setup and there VRM temps got to 90,3 front and 92.2 at the back with a 3900X overclockt at 4.1 all core. If you have the time it could be worth while to wait a few weeks to see the B550 offerings. Chances are that a B550 board at that pricepoint gives you higher quality and better specs than a budget x570 board.

I'm building a server and I've been deciding on wether this motherboard would be good enough. The server would be using every pcie slot, m.2 slot, sata port, fan header, and DIMM. the system would also be running either a R9 5950x or a R9 3950x. m.2 wifi cards are often keyed differently so check the key type on the card then you will see what boards it supports

I use this board to build a Ryzen3600 about eight months ago, I have overclocked it to 4300 1.362v with a cinebench20 score 4000, I run cinebench 20 three times in a row temperatures never got over 69c, I have a total of 3 120mm intake fans and 3 120mm exhaust fan using the hyper 212 black edition CPU cooler, I found the best sweet spot for this and run the coolest temperature is to clock it to 4200 with a few little fine adjustments cinebench20 temperature never gets over 69c, thank you for the video very impressive.

Great review and video thanks. I ordered 3600 and this motherboard, I hope they can works flawlessly. Also In the future maybe change cpu to 4700X and I think it will works fine too. Everyone talking about VRM problems but not everyone buying 3900X-3950X and doing extreme overclock this Cpu's. Have a ryzen 1600 and this board using water cooling and axmp profile for ram at 3333 whenever ram can clock to 3600. I cant even get oc genie 3.4 clock to work stable on cinabench. Ive tried just about every voltage 1.2-1.4 just to try to have 3.4-3.8 to work and no luck. Is my mobo trash? Im ready to rma it. People can hit 3.8 on stock cooling on b450 chipset, but my system isnt stable on anything above stock, temps are even fine.

I recently bought an MSI X570 A PRO but the audio input doesn't seem to work. Is it because this mainboard does only support audio output or is it because I haven't activated windows yet? Im sure it's not because of the microphone as it works on all my other devices. I also installed the latest drivers and it still doesn't work... Can you help me with this?

I got gigabyte aorus gp-A 850gm psu which has 2x 4+4 pin EPS12V. Can you please advise is it recommended to connect one to 8pin connector and other to 4pin connector on msi x570 a-pro? I will be left with one cable connected to 8pin and other 4+4 will have to be connected with only 4 pins connected and other 4 pins not. Please can you advise.

to be honest, with a 3900X @4.7-4.8Ghz, RTX2070S and 32GB 3600M/T's RAM, this board holds up quite nicely after a year, only slight discolouration around the Memcontroller/RAM but nothing in the extremes. the onboard components are decent/sturdy and the board handles the power of all the parts nicely; I know I should've bought a higher-end Mobo for the (at that time) top-tier parts, but it does it's job.

it is mostly okay on all x570 and b550 for that matter unless the manufacturer has specifically locked out the CPU ID

This board uses the same controller and mosfets as the B450 Gaming Pro Carbon and the B450 Tomahawk, but with additional phase doublers. The phases on the Tomahawk aren't doubled at all (four mosfets per choke), the Carbon simply splits the phases between chokes (two mosfets per choke), and the X570 A PRO uses doublers (two mosfets per choke). This is technically better than the Tomahawk in terms of stability, but is slightly less efficient due to the additional switching, and delivers the same amount of power.
