Also Tom isn’t really that dangerous for Jon 🧐 Jon uses range better than anyone in the history of the sport so it’s highly unlikely Tom’s lunging forward throwing 1-2 punching combos is gonna come anywhere close to touching Jon’s chin… Tom isn’t a wrestler so its highly unlikely stays in the feet 🤷🏻‍♂️ And Jon actually has very high output and a variety of scoring techniques… If the fight goes past round 3 Jon picks Tom apart to an easy decision and all Tom really has is a punchers chance… But Francis had a better punchers chance so fighting Tom is like the poor mans Francis fight 😅

Jon Jones has proven over the years that he is one of the greatest in MMA history with unmatched skills, reflexes, and the ability to beat anyone. Now as he moves to heavyweight, people suddenly want him to fight Tom Aspinall, forgetting that Jon is almost 40 and his best years are behind him. Sure, someone new might beat him, but that does not erase the fact that he ruled the sport for years and achieved more than most fighters ever will. Tom Aspinall is undoubtedly a great fighter and absolutely deserves a shot at the title right now and even has a strong chance to win it. But as I said, even though Jones may no longer be in his prime, he remains an incredibly dangerous opponent. Underestimating him would be a mistake.

Jon fought Gane to aquire the HW strap. He fought Stipe because of the enormity of his resume. He did this for the accolades that come with it. Fighting some 15-3 hungry up-and-comer would merely be a title defense. Him beating Poaton would be a fantastic final notch that would cement his legacy. I understand why he would want 30 mill for Aspinall.

If he beats Tom and Tom goes on to lose further matches, then the win means nothing. If Tom beats Jon and Tom goes on to lose his next fight. That's even worse. Aspinall is a hype train. We've seen this before. Tom will go to have a great career but it's still up in the air if he'll have a stellar career like Jon. Where as Alex is a 2 division champ.
