I absolutely loved visiting the allotment garden & seeing how much it has helped bring the community together. The next episode is focused on the newest green projects in Milan but I have to say.. this community is a tough act to follow ❤

When you commented on the community post.. I instantly thought of you and the Milan community garden. It's literally a little urban farm. I learned so much from them. They are all novice gardeners and just have learned on the go, so I am sure that they'd benefit from your knowledge!

I live about 80 km. north of Milano. So I go there quite frequently. I can take a train from the village where I live very cheaply. In the Lombardy region you can buy a ticket for €17.50 which allows you to travel on all forms of transport anywhere in the region for 24 hours. Very useful for days out. I am a frequent visitor to the Orto Botanico. The Cimitero Monumentale is worth a look, too. In May there's a really good plant market in the public gardens by Piazza Della Republica where I spend far too much money. Still too many cars in Milano, though. The bike network has dramatically improved during the last few years.

@StephenSmith-ge1qf yes, I think the consolidation of the public transport network to be run by local government is super effective and the partnership with renfe to bring prices down is great. In the UK that 80km train journey alone would be £60-80 due to privatisation. After spending time in Milan, I realized that drivers were a problem, not just the volume but the anger issues 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I would like to return, next year. Which month would you suggest? Thank you for watching! The next ep continues in Milan, I have some interesting thoughts in the summary and it will be interesting to hear if you'd agree/disagree 🤙🏾

@@CloudGardenerUK April and May are good, the street trees getting their leaves and the temperatures not too hot, though there will be wet days! Sometimes you can get beautiful days in October with clear skies and even a glimpse of the snow on the Alps if you get high up enough (the tower in Parco Sempione, for example.). Never, ever visit Milano in August - everyone's left for the seaside or the mountains, the heat and humidity are terrible and there are millions of mosquitos. Loved the video, and I'm looking forward to the next one!
