Great video, I have done the mod myself to my own 240 and I find that the short shifter is a lot more stiffer feel making it more difficult to select gears 1, 2, 5 and R and I find my self going from 1st gear to 4th gear because the shifter naturally wants to pull towards the middle as soon as you take it out of 1st . Other than that I'm happy with the overall performance of the short shifter kit

Personally, I highly disagree with short throw shifters. I've done it in my S2000 and I hated it. It _looked_ good, but it made it harder to shift and time my heel-and-toe up shifts. When I got my STI, I kept the height at stock and loved how much EASIER it was to shift and time my heel-and-toe rev matching with the shifting. Just my own personal preference.

This seems like a great idea to me. A big part of the reason I decided to buy my MINI Cooper S is that the first time I drove one, I was thrilled by the nice feel of the shifter, and the relatively short and light clutch. My first two vehicles I owned were great for what I needed practically, but they were definitely not drivers' cars (being a '94 5-speed Ranger, and an '06 Prius). So buying a somewhat sporty, but cheaper car, and making the shifting experience great with simple mods is a terrific idea, imo.

Is there a way to fix that in your opinion? And do I need for the car warranty to expire before I do this? Thanks :-)

I have an 05 jetta GLI, and to reverse, I have to push in the shifter to engage reverse. Will tgis mod work for shifters that have to be pushed in to go reverse? Or do I have to get a special one for volkswagon

I did exactly what you said, trade in my accord for 15' civic si, second day driving stick not doing bad.
