I remember riding on the old I-40 through downtown. They really needed to tear that down. Glad they did. Also, it always sounds like in Oklahoma, they use a mixture of Tx-Dot and V-Dot concrete sounds. Can't wait until you get up to Wichita and Kansas City!

They converted most of the old highway to Oklahoma City Boulevard.

The only part of this I drove was the small stretch of 35/40, headed for Dallas on southbound 35 in 2014. It's one of the oldest parts of freeway in Oklahoma, and it looks like they're fixin' to do needed upgrades.

From Douglas Blvd. all the way to the "Fort Smith" Junction (at 11:44, the name makes more sense going the other direction) , I -40 is known locally as the "Tinker Diagonal". at 13:30 is the "Dallas Junction" (self-explanatory). at 23:25 is I-40's first (known) single-point interchange in Oklahoma.
@aaronholcomb237 Жыл бұрын
I-35 and Main in Norman is likewise and the construction at I-40 and Douglas will also be a single point interchange when it's finished.

I stayed near the Rose State college campus in one of those hotels back in March of 1999. Lot of the hotels and a Cracker Barrel was destroyed in the May 3rd 1999 Tornado. Sure has changed.

First time I've seen a double white line on the shoulder. Was that just for the construction?
@JasonWoolridge-o1l4 ай бұрын
That's correct a secondary white line on the shoulder is for highway construction and the shoulder is always a single white line never a double white line 🛣️

@@MileageMikeTravels It looks like the driver got rear-ended (The Black Acura in front of the White Buick has a really messed up front-end) and got pushed into the concrete barriers hard enough for it to be pushed up to be on top the barriers. Glad they appear to be alright and it appeared to be recent (Less than 10 minutes before)
