Miles was never bad off. Sure, in the early days with Charlie Parker, one of his idols. He done somthin about his heroin problem unlike just about everyone on this track and made it out, well into his 60s. Many of the great ones died young during the magical 50s Golden era.

This recording of Love For Sale does appear on the re-released legacy version of Kind Of Blue. It was originally released on 1958 Miles, though. I think it is relevant to Kind of Blue because it was an earlier experiment with some modal playing, with Bill Evans on piano.

This was a 1958 job, not Kind of Blue... besides, no one ever played it better than Parker.. he was so true to the tune, and thats what it is all about. Adderley is just funny, he was such a sandbagging nuisance on Blue.. and Miles cant even play it right here . He struggled with many tunes after all, most notably Monks Round Midnight. I´m no hater, mind you... I love his slurred notes.. the empty spaces between notes .. it makes a great impact to the story telling, and music is all about that
@robertwoodward9231Ай бұрын
Yes Miles had been playing what's called a modal style and he was using the mute can more often. This is my least favorite song on the great Something Else album and side two is just incredible. One of the best jazz albums, all time! I didn't care much either for his take on Round Midnight but he kept to the changing tides of music and seldom if ever looked back. Bitches Brew is a great example.

@Whateverworksism7 жыл бұрын
Zach Nguyen is correct and answers your question Stephen Fulton. It was on the Kind of Blue Legacy Edition released in 2009, not the original from 1959. However the bonus tracks on the Legacy Edition are, as Bruno Cilloniz mentions, from the 58' sessions album. Columbia just decided to smack it all together in 2009 given that it is the same musicians playing, except Wynton Kelly. Thus, this is why people mistakenly think the 58' sessions originally was on Kind of Blue.
