A 48 peg works with this. You just do an uwrap at the end/beginning of next row to shift it one. After the second row then you wont have to shift it over. Hope im telling you right. I put gold marker then blue marker so i knew what my next row would be. Row 1 blue markers row 2 gold markers then row 3 blue markers. It makes it alot easier . i also wrote the time and what color marker i was doing like 9.50 pm B for blue then circled it. Thanks deborah. I did 10 inches and another owl eye after the 1st purl then i did another purl and started the stitch

Yes you can do it on an even loom, i have many times. I dont just do a uwrap to shift. For alternating, i use a stitch that i feel will blend in perfectly and I do the one i demonstrated but as long as it works for you and you like it all is good. I got the loom done at Cindwood so i could do my brims that need uneven as well as my stiches perfectly and seamlessly but before i had to use even so i got good at making a good transition.

I am almost finished with this hat. The stitch is absolutely gorgeous as is the hat pattern. This is one stitch I would happily do for the rest of my life - you can get into a wonderful, relaxed rhythm with it. I love that it is reversible also. Do you have any plans for creating a flat panel with this stitch? I want to make scarves and blankets with it. I fervently hope you do!! It's an absolute beauty. Thanks very much. You hit it out of the ballpark with this one!
