@@MonsieurGuy build quality overall is very good. the gaps on exterior are fantastic. there is no problem with cheap plastics or other things hater pointed out in videos before. i am a car guy and extremely picky when it comes to this stuff. i let a shop install TPU foil all over the outside to protect the very clean paintjob. interior is excellent, the nappa leather and stitching is high quality and notning is rattleling. the sound system is just epic! first car in my life i felt like i dont need add speaker/sub or amplifier myself which i always did on all my cars before. proper dolby atmos. display is super resonsive and fast. you can feel the nvidia chip inside the car. company leader i know bought the same car with 20" wheels and the michelin pilot sports which i have driven alot before i got mine. ride quality is great. grip is far beyond anything i had before. range with these super sticky tires is a bit lower which is why i choosen 19" wheels and michelin e-primacy on mine combined with the aero rims. grip is still amazing but i get better range on them, the ride quality is better and more soft while noise on highway is lower too. the 20" still feels quiet but they are a bit harder when you drive on bumpy streets. in the rainy season we get deep potholes here sometimes and thats one of the reasons i choose 19" too. i bend several rims on my BYD which was 22" that time. i swapped to 20" after some years and they dont bend anymore when you accidently hit one of these holes. yeah overall i am happy with 19" rims and tires so far. i can drive 160km/h and have a conversation in a very calm tone because its so silent inside. almost unreal feeling. the active noise canceling does the rest to keep things quiet. i thought this would be much worse before. the adaptive suspension does stiffen up the car when you drive in sport mode. i made my own mode with suspension at the lowest level and most soft, rear spoiler tucked in and the softest throttle response. that gives me great range. i cannot say anough good things about this car.

China is an industrialized country. China is not incapable of producing high-quality products, but some countries have lower incomes and unscrupulous businesses offer extremely low prices to Chinese manufacturers in order to earn higher profits. They even purchase scrap products from China and sell them to their countries, including Africa. In fact, Mercedes Benz, Toyota, Apple phones, including computers, are mostly produced in China. Few people complain about the poor quality of Apple phones. So there are significant differences in the world, including many brands from South Korea, Japan, and the United States, whose production locations are actually in China.😂

There's sure to be already a discussion about this somewhere else, but Xiaomi should simply offer a model with ceramic brake pads. I don't really think the brake issue is going to rule out success in any sense. If Brembo doesn't have a solution then someone else... obviously Tesla had to realise that when their cars are raced the brakes will overheat and the only sure fix is to fit ceramic brakes.

By "shake up" the EV market, you must mean destroy the US EV market.
@MilesPerHrАй бұрын
No, I meant “shake up” because I think it would introduce competition that would force current automakers to step up their games
@fancyleafАй бұрын
Telsa still sells very well in China. More competition in the market will benefit everyone.

Destroying the US EV market and destroying US EV makers are two different things.
@yang11228Ай бұрын
@@fancyleaf But Tesla's good sales in China are largely due to financial policies. The Chinese only need to pay 11000 dollars down to drive home, and enjoy zero interest on the five-year loan. So the Chinese only need to pay 11000 dollars to buy Tesla and then pay 380 dollars a month.

It does not look like Porsche at all. I drive a Porsche and I would trade in for this Xiaomi if it is available in California. I just bought a Xiaomi fold phone when I went to Taiwan couple month ago because my iPhone can’t insert SIM card and I needed a local number. I learned this SU7 has ports everywhere that owner can plug in optional instruments and mobile drvices and fully integrated with the car. This fold phone is half of the cost of my iPhone 16 and has better features the Leica lens takes beautiful pictures. I bought a Xiaomi vacuum back which lighter and longer battery than Dyson at home. So I ham convinced Xiaomi can make great car too.

The US would never let Chinese cars in US. The market disruption would be devastating to US, Japanese, and Korean brands. Despite the security, build quality, and reliability concern, Xaomi made a great product for the price.
@marcusclarkson5520Ай бұрын
If you said some issues in your second paragraph then the car is not great whatever its price so.
@ZiakelАй бұрын
@ same can be said for any brand. Look at Toyota and Honda lately, build quality and reliability went down. Look at American brands collecting and selling your data without consent. Despite that, they charge more and more. Example: the 2026 4Runner TRD Pro now cost up to 68k before dealerships markups. No brand is perfect but they can at least offer good value.

In the design you mentioned McLaren, Porsche, Tesla, generic Chinese EVs. It just sounds like an amalgamation of things, which isn't surprising because the design team were a combination of domestic designers and talent poached from European manufacturers. What they ended up making was a blend of their different experiences.

Every car enthusiast will love this car once they are behind the steering wheel. It is not BYD, who is good at selling affordable family cars. Xiaomi is different. I bet if there is no friction for Chinese brands in the US or EU, xiaomi is gonna beat other Chinese brands easily.
@louiszhang3050Ай бұрын
I remember when I lived in China, the default was Chinese cars were trash. Plasticky, even worse than the worst Kias. I visited China this past winter to see my family and most of my Didi drivers were driving BYD EVs. I was shocked by how nice they were. A lot of them put a lot of miles/kms on their vehicle. I asked them about the reliability and most of them said they didn't have many issues (at least not more than you'd normally have with a vehicle). Then I asked them about the price. 140,000 yuan. That's around $19k for a quality midsize EV sedan with tons of standard features. He asked me how much EVs costed in the US, and I said you'd be looking at around $40k starting for a Model 3 and he said, "how could anyone afford to drive in America?" Despite Americans making far more than Chinese people on average, corporate executives have made us poor and ran off with the money!

Xiaomi is successful in terms of materials, workmanship and pricing. China gave Xiaomi the last qualification to build cars instead of Huawei, apparently supporting Xiaomi, in order to make Xiaomi rectify the unhealthy tendencies of Chinese cars, such as jerry-building and not thinking of making progress.
