Okay but the way Mu noticed how Es "treats everything like it's someone else's business" makes me think of how smart she is. The responsibility *is* on us, on Es, not on someone else. That just comes back to the main theme, remind you, the original Milgram experiment.

Not to say Mu's feelings aren't real; I still very much believe that she's not crying crocodile tears, but its hard to get a good read on what exactly happened. Having her pick up on Es' strange behavior was really interesting too. It shows she's not entirely dumb and clueless, or at least is able to pick up on things the others wouldn't notice. @pin85842 жыл бұрын
I find Mu relatable in a really bad way. Mu was severely bullied, right? Through my experience, I think Mu would bully someone else to feel that same amount of pride and power. You clearly saw it with how she heavily hammered in on Es talking to Jackalope. Her mind has been twisted so much that she thinks that if anyone hurts her first, she hurts them back and/or hurts other people. It's no longer fighting back. It is revenge or just bullying someone out of the equation for no reason other than it just feeling good. Lastly, her demanding Es look at every single detail like that really confirms for me that she most likely believes in that philosophy of justification.
@maramamia Жыл бұрын
i really like your idea of mu being a bully and would for you to know that according to her wiki page and the chalk writing in her music video, she grew up rich and was likely spoiled, and at one point was in fact one of the bullies until her friends went "hey this rich girl is so arrogant" and started bullying her too. also in one of their second trail vids jackalope goes "after the dirst trial, it seems her anxiety has subsided and her real personality has come out" or smth like that. just letting you know to aid that theory in a way???

Since we’re sharing takes, I’ll chip in too!! I think it’s just interesting to point out the namesake of the project and what we, the audience, and the different characters may represent. If you read up on the original milgram experiment, you’ll find that there’s the authority figure, the participant (test subject) then the receiver of electric shocks. I used to think that the prisoners were the test subjects and Es was the authority figure giving out verdicts. Except, after that lil freaky acknowledgement of Es’ indecisiveness from Mu, it’s safer to say *we’re* the authority figures while Es is the one we’re ordering around. And Es has no choice but to follow our votes whether they follow any ethics or not. Moreover, Es giving out their forgiveness or rejection is like giving electric shocks to the prisoners, seeing the effects of Es’ choices in the second trial. On a side note, in the OG experiment, the receivers are actors and accomplices of Stanley, so that could hint that maybe some of the prisoners are part of Milgram? Or possibly working with jackalope to f*ck with Es? Also, there’s the question of who and what Jackalope is. Mascot? Trained bunny? Nonetheless, I don’t believe he actually talks 😭 Rather, I have a feeling somebody else is talking to Es behind the Jackalope facade. Hmm. Kinda like a Junko Enoshima character. It really makes me wonder what the actual mechanics of Milgram are? Are they pulling some kind of Danganronpa V3 stunt or will we not be acknowledged by the end of it all? TL;DR es represents the study participants made to obey an authority figure (us), some prisoners might be fake ones??, and jackalope=monokuma?!?!
@pomme29032 жыл бұрын
I'm actually pretty sute jackalope is the authority figure, while we are the test subjects, and the murderers are people we are supposed to electrocute. Because it makes US go against our morales
@liavi33192 жыл бұрын
@@pomme2903 oooh that's true too!! im still very intrigued with whatever's going on with es, though! It seems there's more to this character than "representing the audience as the prison guard" , given the mental breakdown they had just now and the spare cell/room in panopticon.
@Starlight-Tale2 жыл бұрын
I agree with much of what you said regarding Es, but I think the authority figure in this scenario might actually be Jackalope, given how he introduces Es to the situation and their role, and how he pushes them onward to continue in their role (even encouraging them to be more harsh with saying things like how if it was him he'd vote them all guilty). The concept of someone else talking behind Jackalope's facade to control things from a distance is interesting as well. It's certainly not impossible.

I LOVE THE DANGANRONPA REFERENCE ive never thought of that
@poiesis2273 Жыл бұрын
Oh you made me realize that the name of the project is indeed the same as this psychological test !! Your theory made me think that more than Es, the subject is probably us, since the authority may be the project, ordering us to only interact by pressing the button Guilty or Innocent. Jackalope and Es are probably just the characters that respectively incarnate the authority and us. Since the project clearly points out to a direction that is going to break the 4th wall, I believe that the project has for main purpose to collect our reactions toward moral values, and how we allow ourselves to judge and vote if we’re given the possibilities in front of moral dilemmas, more than seeing the outcome of the story of the characters ( even if it’s play an important role because it’s for seeing how the characters we will end that we participate in the first place, but for the project miligram, their main purpose is to in fact study us ). And probably Es isn’t going to want to play our representative role anymore in the project since he seems to have a personality and a will of his own.

The bullying she received was so overwhelming and painful that it completely twister Mu's mind and driven her to murder someone without feeling any remorse. She thought they deserved it for treating her that bad and hurting her.
@samalacha590 Жыл бұрын
I think its narcissism actually. She probably got it from her upbringing, I'd speculate that her parents probably coddled her and never really corrected her properly whenever she made mistakes. Might be a bit stereotypical but given her parent's occupations, they probably never really had the time to pay attention to Mu's upbringing and would've compensated for this by giving her everything she asked for, but never really gave her what she needed, hence resulting with Mu developing an overinflated ego and the failure to be held accountable for her own mistakes.

Yeah...I think her 'spoiled' background plays a lot on her whole mindset. She comes from a rich family (so much so that others were apparently "jealous" of her) and she ate crepe cakes in Milgram...which isn't a major point, but that kind of reflects her previous lifestyle 😭 But back to the point, she believes with every fiber in her being that what she did was NOT her fault. She has a high self esteem and she feels as though her reasoning was justifiable. The combination of her being highly intelligent and highly spoiled are a poor mix in her case, because she ends up with no doubts whatsoever (why would she? She is smart/observant and is probably aware of it, and she probably got validated of it in her past. If she believes she has good moral judgement based off of the fact that she is intelligent, then of course she wouldn't doubt herself). Another thing to note, she seems *very* entitled. She has little or no regard to the police/law because they won't give her what she wants - an easy out....considering her parents are rich and she's still a kid, perhaps she could slide out with enough effort, but gaining the favor of Es would potentially be easier, right? She claims she would do ANYTHING and then holds back immediately after (can't be scary, embarrassing, etc). She will do whatever to please Es *as long as they're on her terms and it's something she can comfortably do.* If her easy lifestyle was on the line and she just told someone that she was willing to do "anything" to get free, don't you think "embarrassing" things is something she should be willing to do or at least consider? At the end she refused to sing if it hurt and only ALLOWED it once she got reaffirmed that it wouldn't. It basically sounds as though she'll suck up to Es and go along with the Milgram stuff as long as she wants to and ONLY IF SHE IS OKAY WITH IT (otherwise, idk what she'd do-) Haruka claimed to be a selfish person (not saying if I think he is or not) but imo, that's a much better word for Mu....I was facepalming when she started crying after causing Es to hyperventilate...and then to say that she hates them in the middle of that- more concerned that they pushed her away than if they're okay- 😓

after listening to her drama for i would say this is my fourth time, i have a few points (mini theory if you will) i want to make out even from first impression of the drama, we get that muu is actually not that stupid. even if shes unintentionally making deduction shots in the dark, her intuition is most likely above an average person. with that being said, i propose that she intentionally let herself get bullied, if not that, her resistance to her bullying was weaker. in her mv, we never see her fight back or genuinely feel ashamed of herself. it was moreso like disappointment and missing the bond she had with her "friends" i think by now, while were still beginning the era of milgram's trial 2, we can already tell that muu is super super confident shes not in the wrong. shes said it multiple times. in her voice clips on the website, in her voice drama, in her voice teaser. at 14:44 when shes comparing her chances with getting caught by the police to her situation at milgram, right in the middle (where she comments on her never being in the wrong) you can here her tone make an almost instantaneous drop and then bounce back only a couple seconds later. she *knows* shes not in the wrong as if theres a very damn good reason her murder is justified my second point is at 15:36 where she says "I won't go through with it" (referring to if she'll feel hurt during the music production) her tone does the same exact drop, a bit more mellow, but its certainly there. she says it as if she has a choice (to which es also comments on in their later dialogue). and she does it again 15:45 only seconds later she says "then you can go ahead and do it" like she had a CHOICE / control. i have a feeling that a typical victim to bullying has a lot less control over what they want and defending themselves against the bullies' demands. though muu seems opposed to commands such as painful or embarrassing acts, she gives in to es literally two dialogues after this to me shows she let most if not all teasing from her bullies slide. why? because it would make her crush pity her and maybe even perhaps defend her. after all, they were all friends at one point. she doesnt feel guilty of her murder because she allowed her friends to take advantage of her, making her extremely vulnerable and which is exactly what happened. Ultimately, it gives her a "valid" reason to kill later on and gain pity points from es / the viewers. the bullying was never fake, i just think muu let them do awful things to her so that she could grab the attention of her crush / the person she thought cared about her most. its like she's testing an invisible promise that this individual would see her and have concern / empathy. shes also doing something similar-ish to haruka this trial if she gets voted guilty. this is why she doesnt want es demanding her to do things and ultimately kinda hates es anyway now. so when she denies complying with the music producing, she isn't exactly gaining anything from es, even if she endures the pain she thought might happen; then later when she is assured it doesn't hurt, she gives in, "letting" es go through with their original plan which would be natural for her to do when someone humiliates her...something like that. and the obvious at 16:13 where the most prominent of her tone drops happen is when she firmly states she will *not* forgive es if they choose her verdict wrong. remember how she always wants to be forgiven but she would never forgive those who did the horrible things to her until they apologize themselves. she perfectly set up a situation so that she would definitely come out as innocent *atleast* at the very beginning. guess she succeeded there, huh. anyway im done with my tiny dump ty

I think she's guilty from the first time I saw her MV too. She reminds me a lot of someone who hurt me badly before. People who will feel hurt by your rejection and will blame you for their obsession. They want your pity, your attention and all your time, but they will feel as you're the wrong one if you don't want to give it to them. It doesn't seem like Muu felt any kind of regret for the person she probably hurt before, she just self-indulged in her own suffering, thinking this makes her "the right one in this situation". She felt betrayed because this other girl didn't pity her, but she never revealed why this girl hated her so much in the entire song, she probably doesn't care at all if she hurt her first or not. She's using other's compassion in other to use them, and it's pretty clear in this video. She doesn't want to take responsibility for any of her actions and uses her own "vulnerability" as her shield and blade. There are a lot of lines in her song which activated a lot of triggers in my memory, like the "sorry spell". Muu is a manipulative person and the character I hate the most from the entire cast.
