When wearing a pack for long rucks, having a front counterbalance works wonders.

I've become a convert to PLCE. I have a DPM tailored webbing set where the pouches have been seen into the padding belt. It has 4 ammo pouches and 3 storage pouches so it's pretty versatile. I've been considering running it with the two zip-off patrol pack sections from the bergen attached on the rear of the webbing as a sort of light-fighting setup (it's kinda hot here in Florida).

@@Echo_Mike Definitely! I've been experimenting with running in conjunction with my JPC 1 plate carrier and haven't decided yet whether I want to have the carrier over the webbing or vice versa. I've been thinking of the PLCE as "extended operations" kit -extra ammo, sustainment, cleaning kit, etc. and the JPC+items in my uniform pockets being the "fighting load" kit. Still working out the setup though. Your videos are a great guide.

Layering gear across person (1st line), fighting load (2nd line), and ruck (3rd line) - seems to have become standard across US forces and allies - all that cross-training with Aussies and Brits was great for swaping best TTPs. Thanks for the refesher. What is the ruck used in the video? Fortis Fortuna Juvat

Like the channel. A couple of quick questions though: 1) do you not use dummy cord on flashlight, pocket knife, multi tool etc? 2) you have two TQs, one right sleeve pocket, one rear right kidney area, if your right arm is disabled/lost can you reach them with full kit on left handed?
@Echo_Mike
@Echo_Mike 5 ай бұрын
Welcome to the channel, I will attach them with chord. I find myself swapping out kit so much for these videos recently I havnt attached them, TQs I have 4 on my person - TQ placement seems to be very personal to each individual’s philosophy

Is there a reason that you carry the line 1 TQ in your arm pocket? I was taught to keep them on my centerline so they can be reached with either (remaining functional) arm. Would it work better for access in one of the Napoleon pockets?
@Echo_Mike
@Echo_Mike 5 ай бұрын
Great comment: TQ placement seems to be dependent on unit, nation or individual. I often wear armour with my jacket so chest pockets are always left empty of life saving equipment. In general, as long as it’s visible and your mates know where everyone keeps them - that’s the main thing

Dear EM thank for the very informative presentation. Is it more preferable to keep your medical stuff inside an IFAK pouch than spread your medical item across your lines so that your squad members can know where to locate them on you? Lastly, mess tin on the webbing (line 2) or in the bergen (line3)?
@Echo_Mike
@Echo_Mike 5 ай бұрын
Appreciate the comment; medical is. It my area of expertise but an IFAK is a must. I also spread medical on my gear as I like to always have access to something - as long as your team knows and you all agree on SOPs. The webbing is a bridge between level 2 and 3 gear. So included that as an example, if I have webbing I’ll keep it there, if I run a plate carrier or chest rig my mess tins will be in my pack
