Nothing more satisfying that welding on some fresh metal.

Keith, I feel your pain! Lying on your back is not too bad but getting up & down to fetch tools is a struggle lol, Cheers Dave

Tell you what Keith sprout is coming along brilliantly. It’s a huge pain lying on your back doing work but keep up the good work mate. Sam.

Great Video mate. The problem with 165/60 is i think you will need to cut the arches a bit as they may rub on full lock.

They are OK as long as you don't have a large offset. On the standard 4.5J wheels they should not rub

Hi Keith, I think sprout could look nice with just a fresh chrome trim instead of arches as long as whatever wheels you choose don't protrude too much. Removing that sill did look frustrating! Coming on nicely tho 😊

Nice work once again mate. That colour would suit archless with some nice retro wheels..

I came to a similar conclusion to you regarding the cost of refurbishing the wheels - I've replaced my original alloys with repros from Minisport - stuck with the 4.5x12 minilite style wheels and had 165 Yokohamas fitted. Cost just over £500. Falkens are a bit cheaper and I think John Brown might price the wheels a bit lower - but they didn't answer my enquiries, so I went with Minisport. I think 165x12 tyres are a good compromise for looks and drivability. Nice work on the sills

Good Job Corn Beef, I'd stick 12" wheels on it (not wide ones) as I think the minis drive better on the 12's. Hope your wrist is okay bud

Also mate, i see you have some cutting oil there. Did that make any difference when drilling with that? Get yourself a wrist support whilst doing that kind of work, it'll help in the long run.

It didn't seem to help much but wasnt very effective as I was drill up. Good call on the wrist support

Hi Keith, even with 165 tyres will it look right with those arches? What about 165's and spacers? to give it a more aggressive stance; just a thought; M

Been there, didn't enjoy this job at all! How did you get the bit out in the heel board? What tool did you use? Luckily I will have new heel board ends but I'm curious how you managed it. Thanks
@classicminiworkshop5 жыл бұрын
I bent it down then used a combination of a screwdriver, pliers and a dremmel with a carbide bur to get as much out as possible.
