@@davidbullock1101 Yes, but she did listen to the best version, amongst all the bootlegs, etc. It's been said that the TSRTS versions were generally less than stellar but this one was not one of them. The Song Remains the Same itself and the Rain Song were the other standouts on that album. Maybe No Quarter. There were some moments on Whole Lotta Love where they got into the zone.

I've met Rob Plant in my local Co Op supermarket, he was looking at the Classic Rock magazine, wasn't impressed because his Band of Joy album had just come out, and he said to me look at that, he has being with us all week eating our food and drinking our beer and he has slated my album, he then said I'll get him or words to that effect 😉😂 he lives five miles up the road from me, such a genuine guy, not up his own ass like a lot of them, been known in the pub after a few beers to get up on stage and sing, and when he heard about a little lad with brain cancer in the town, he arranged a concert straightaway, Having this played at my funeral. 🤘😎🎸💀✊

I was fortunate enough to have seen them live several times in the 70's. Great band, all four were so great at what they did. But Bonzo drove that engine with his drums, and JPJ is often overlooked, but he is a great musical genius, Jimmy is a guitar God and Robert has the voice of an angel.....this is why they are ranked as the number one band from this ERA the music still holds up.

The beauty of Zeppelin is that they never play a song the same way twice. They are the gods of ad lib playing. Some great live songs are Whole Lotta Love (Live at Royal Albert Hall 1970) and Kashmir (Live at Knebworth 1970). A couple of my favorites. You can't go wrong with Immigrant Song, either. Looking forward to this series. Other greats artists would be Rolling Stones, Doors, Janis Joplin, Jimmy Hendrix, Loving Spoonful, and Heart to start with. 80's hair bands would be Motley Crue, Poison, Def Leppard, Ratt, Bon Jovi, Guns and Roses, and, of course, Skid Row. As someone who actually grew up with the 70's and 80's bands as new artists, this exciting and nostalgic for me. :D

Great reaction! Led Zeppelin were brilliant live! Another classic band that you may not have heard of are Van der Graaf Generator. They are (yes, they still exist, though their first album came out 1969) a British band and were especially successful in Italy, where they were absolute superstars and celebrated like the Beatles, and this is no exaggeration. They consisted of Peter Hammill (vocals, keyboards and guitar), David Jackson (saxes and flute; his specialty was playing two saxes at the same time, as you can see in this video at some time), Hugh Banton (organ with bass pedals and sometimes bass guitar) and Guy Evans (drums and percussion). David Bowie was a huge fan of them. Other prominent fans are Rob Halford, the singer of Judas Priest, Bruce Dickinson, the singer of Iron Maiden, John Lydon, the singer of the Sex Pistols, Marc Almond, the singer of Soft Cell, Julian Cope, the singer of The Teardrop Explodes, and Robert Fripp, the guitar player of King Crimson. All the people mentioned, including Bowie, were at the reunion concert of Van der Graaf Generator on May 6th 2005 (after a hiatus of 27 years). Robert Fripp actually said about Peter Hammill in his autobiography: "What Jimi Hendrix did for the guitar Peter Hammill did for the vocals". You should like this video of them. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y3SkYp6Vl5eBrLc
