@@toadis6949 OK, reasonable answer. I wonder if there is a business model for a service that provides for the evacuation of an expensive asset. In exchange for reduced insurance premiums, the owner agrees to hand over the keys to professionals who work for an evacuation company. When a tropical storm is brewing south of Cuba and headed for Florida, for example, these professionals would be ordered into Florida for asset evacuation duty.

I’m not sure if they do it for more expensive boats, but I know that will small personal planes, if you don’t move it before a big storm, the insurance companies will fight to not pay for the damages, because their logic is: it’s a plane, you could be anywhere else in a few hours.

We'd maintenances, cared for every inch inside and out, stem to stern. The varnish, paint, woodwork was done with love and pride. My dad showed me all that from a young age, I always knew our boat was sound. Not off the list. Oops, there I go sharing my feelings again. Sorry. If you all had channels I could send each of you a superchat and make it right. It's my right, just as it's yours not to read comments you don't enjoy. Have a good day, may you not be in the storms path, my friend.

It's because most of them are credit card captains. I bet most of them have not left the dock in years. for the Rich its always status over utility with boats.

That’s weird. A major hurricane warning was placed here and the boats ended up damaged?

I was in Fort Myers between June and July. My sister Malgorzata lives there. A beautiful village. Paradise on earth. Americans believe that you will rise. Poland was destroyed many times. two years. I wish you with all my heart strength and peace in rebuilding. You have a beautiful country of cool people. I have never met so many smiling people. Optimism beats from you. Take care of people and animals you will rise. After that you will come out even stronger!

I find it kind of ironic that a hurricane comes through and your house is still standing but a million dollar boat washes ashore dew to storm surge and crashes into it

those people driving around in salt water are going to regret it down the road when they have to replace parts on the underside of their cars / trucks

Like driving in a state where they use salt on the roads in winter? Believe me, it’s a lot more concentrated than seawater.

Well a Carver is around a half million new. Many of these could be bought used for well under $100,000 during the last crash. Probably didn’t lose much after insurance.

So the owners who hauled their yachts out pay lower premiums? But the cost to haul is covered.

So they did not get the memo of this hurricane.

My ex bf parents used to put their boat in dry dock at end of season. They did not wish a hurricane skipped them. They prepared for the worst.
@shammydammy26102 жыл бұрын
That works in a place that has an 'end of season'. Even if you believe there is an end to the season, it's not until November in this area.

Omg...those rich owners who will have to file insurance claims...they're just so hard done by.

Did people really think nothing would happen to there boat ??????????????

Big dollar boat owners on the Gulf Coast? Leaving them in the path, or in Florida at all. It's their decision.

if i had a boat like these, I would have gone to the pan handle

The boat owners have no clue how to take care of boats. If one of those Yachts belonged to me then I would have done something different than using a rope to tie up the boat at a dock, and place the boat beside, or in front of other boats that can probably smash or crash into another boat, or fly into another boat, or be tossed out of the water.
@vicpinto19702 жыл бұрын
So what would you have done genius? Judging by the fact that you called a line a "rope" I doubt it would be anything substantial.
@knowledgeandmultiskilled2 жыл бұрын
@@vicpinto1970 The item that was used, and I am assuming it was used looks like a rope. I think what was used is inappropriate to use during a natural disaster. I have other ideas that would be much better to use, and no I won't share it with anyone. There is really only 1 way to find out if my ideas work, or not.

Some people will experience windfalls of money after the storm and some will never recover. Winners and losers. It’s in our human history.

OMG. What Will we do now? our million dollar yacht is destroyed. I guess we don't have anything left. Oh ya we have a 2 million dollar yacht left.. I guess we will have to rough it.

Gotta take it out and anchor it in the bay with a hurricane anchor (extra large Mantis anchor with 8 to 1 scope).
