When you melt chocolate for your recipes, try only melting roughly half. When it's melted, pop in the other half (in smaller bits) and let it melt in. This way, you're effectively tempering the chocolate, getting a much better result.

My Grandma made something like this at Christmas and I was never able to get the recipe from her. This is great! She used very little caramel but yeah, it's the same recipe! I can't wait to bring this to Christmas and bring back a collective memory now that my Grandmother can't bake anymore.

I have always made the caramel by just putting the (closed!) tin of condensed milk in boiling water for three or so hours. It caramelizes really well, and it's almost impossible to burn like that.

It’s funny you took your ring off cause I never use to either! Until a few years back I had to mix up a huge tub of coleslaw and it was easier to use my hands ! Mixed washed my hands after to find my wedding rings gone! About 30 min later and tons panicked digging I found them! So not worth all the panic cause I new where I lost them but no more ever! I take them off to mix things by hand! It’s good advice hon! I love your show! God bless you all!

OMG, this looks delish! I'm a pretty good baker but I've never made any candy so I'm nervous about the caramel. My dogs are the same way when a loud noise occurs. Actually, my shih tzu is scared of every noise and my Yorkie is like "I didn't hear anything, why is he so scared."
@tendersheep6676 жыл бұрын
In Oklahoma in the USA we take saltine crackers and break them down with the butter and sugar, it gives a great texture and a bit of salt that pairs nicely with the caramel and chocolate. Some people sprinkle a bit of sea salt on the top of chocolate as well.

Hi I want ask about why you use butter and also baking paper? I saw it in lot of your videos but it is two options. You can use baking paper or you can grease it with butter and dusted with flour. Baking paper is lazy version of greasing the tin :D Our baking paper on Slovakia is like wax paper or non stick paper so we dont need grease it with butter also.
